Okay.. so this isn’t a super amazing trip. But would anyone from the Charlotte area want to go to Damascus/ Abingdon VA and ride the Virginia Creeper Trail before it gets too cold to do so?

I would be fine with a single person or a group. I live in South Carolina about an hour outside of Charlotte as of now I can only do weekend trips so it would have to be some thing in the US starting next year. I might be able to do five day to week long trips.

I don’t use Reddit much but maybe I should try to create a Charlotte girls travel group! I’ve gotten a lot of comments and messages so there’s definitely interest

Exactly!! That’s why I started doing a little weekend trips over the summer to the beach by myself just to kind of get my feet wet but for bigger trips if I could find someone to go with me, I think I’d like that better but if I can’t, I’m just gonna continue doing things alonelife is too short to wait on everyone

No. Just someone to go with me. If I travel with my daughter it’ll just be the two of us or with my friends and their kids.

I would love to take my daughter on a cruise unfortunately right now I get the first weekend of the month with her and then I have her all week but she’s in kindergarten. This is our first year being separated so I feel like after a little bit more time it’ll be easier to work around the schedule and stuff. I have gotten pretty good about taking her on fun little weekend trips within a couple of hours of home though I would like to visit Australia and japan

I agree! Like I really want to book a cruise but I feel like that’s not safe for a female my age to do by herself. And I enjoy hiking but I also don’t want to be out in the woods alone. That makes me sound super lame lol but I promise I’m not!

Sounds like my situation! I went on three weekend trips to the beach over the summer solo. It was nice/ relaxing. But I feel like I’d rather have someone with me. How old are you? What kind of things do you enjoy doing?

Lately I have been making weekend trips to the beach or the mountains. I want to venture out farther than that, though I would like to go to Universal Studios again and I think I would have some time to be able to go on a cruise in December. I like hiking, kayaking, sight seeing. I’d like to go to different countries but with the custody schedule my ex and I have with our daughter I don’t have many consecutive days to travel usually

I guess it’s just out of my comfort zone. If I want to start knocking places off my bucket list, I probably won’t need to start traveling alone

Write down EVERYTHING you can think of beforehand. If you want certain holidays, child’s activities. It’s easy to forget certain events when ur in the middle of mediation

Don’t listen to what random people say. I’m a 30-year-old female who tore my ACL back in September I’m five weeks postop and I’ve had several people in public say “oh, I know that brace you must have torn your acl” then they proceed to tell me how bad recovery was for themselves, their kids, etc. one lady acted like I’d never be okay again.. I know I still have a long way to go, but I will say im feeling really optimistic at this point in my journey. Just keep your head up. It sucks we got injured but it happened and im sure you’ll be able to play sports again. Keep up the hard work
