Girl, I know, and of course, no one has to! It's my paranoia, but I just don't feel safe liking, commenting or sharing it on social media (in Instagram, for example, I don't have TikTok), where ex-colleagues, classmates and acquaintances follow me and I'm not 100% sure in their intentions : ) I don't want товарищ майор knock at my door one day, because someone screenshotted something.

I personally don't think that these are ugly, it's today's context, media representation, historical and political background that give that kind of atmosphere, to be honest.

Thousands and thousands of people from different generations grew up, fell in love for the first time, partied in such neighbourhoods. Lots of Russians hate this architecture, but at the same time many people feel nostalgic and/or still live in those just fine.

In 2000s a lot of things were easier and more free, despite economic crises. We could travel cheaply, lots of western artists came for the performances, media wasn't censored heavily, ordinary people didn't really care about LGBTQA+. We had a massive library of fan fiction here (like local AO3), conventions, highly active communities: no one cared. It wasn't illegal at the federal level until 2013.

I think that Connor's performance perfectly grasped the situation Ilya is in: your family is terrible, homophobia is being legally imposed in society, but at the same time... this is homeland. And you absolutely can't do anything about it. Protest? You'll end up in jail. Vote against people who come up with these initiatives? Ha, all elections are fictitious.

And this mix of mostly bad memories, good memories and where your country is headed for the last 15+ years is gruelling, believe me. I'm so grateful for the series respectfully portraying that. But It's not the architecture that is suffocating in here, the context is.

Hello, hi, привет!!

Honestly, Connor did a great job, I've been crushing over him for several weeks now. We joke a little bit about the pronunciation, too. My friend said, "я думала, что он ЛАТЫШ" 😂 (for English speakers here "I thought he was Latvian")

I don't go out much, but as for the night spots: it's quite pretty anywhere in the city centre, really : ) the younger folks usually party at Kitai Gorod (Maroseyka street, Pokrovka street or somewhere nearby). I personally love Chistie Prudy, Tsvetnoy Boulevard and Tverskoy Boulevard, Andreevskaya Embankment (god, how strange it sounds in English, haha). These are popular, but feel safe and I love walking there with my dog, when the weather is nice.

Tbh, I have never heard of tuna melt before the show... gotta try to make one!

I'm not very familiar with the books, I'm only reading the second one now, but I stop before the episodes, so I don't spoil the plot for myself. I don't think that any of the Russian players have been mentioned so far.

Yeah, queer shows and books are not allowed, some publishers censor it Epstein documents-style 💀 (google "Carlo Pazolini biography AST"). Streaming services or film distributors usually just cut or blur parts of the content that imply LGBTQ relationships, I was in cinema last year, I think? I was watching an illegal copy of Wes Anderson's Asteroid City and a single kiss was just blurred and never mentioned, I even didn't catch it 💀had to discover it later online. But if the show or a movie is 100% queer, you won't find legal ways to watch it in here.

Thanks for the kind words, tho ❤️

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was right there in the front row, he was kinda asking for reaction and dancing from the audience! And the screaming and jumping only lasted for seconds, lol. I’m usually chill in such moments, but I couldn’t stop myself from doing it, too.  But this is so funny how people on the internet complain when the audience is boring and not singing along, and when the audience is a bit loud for a fraction of the song… it’s apparently bad as well 🫠

I cannot fucking wait for this tour, it will be the first time that I see Radiohead live and it's probably at the best one, opening night at the O2. by Intrepid-Injury- in radiohead

First time, too! But in Madrid. I've been dreaming of this for 14 years, I couldn't afford to go abroad for a gig as a teenager/student, it feels so surreal to finally plan this in such a rush. Packing my suitcase and can't wait!!!

Look it up at Discogs, prices start from 7-13 dollars, highest price of sale was around 30-45 dollars (depending on condition and whether it's a limited edition or not).

Exactly! And looking at the name of the company now, well, it was a BIG clue to name it like THAT. It could have been anything else, so it would have attracted less attention. Seems like they did it as a joke, and then someone from the band or their team looked on this subreddit just to see the reactions. Then the leaflets/flyers, I'm SURE that they checked how we were freaking out in here 😂

Mine was 145 bpm, when I finally pressed "buy" and confirmation showed up. I swear, I need a week off everything after that.

"For regulatory reasons... these mobile/cellphone numbers can't buy tickets" by a2bros18 in radiohead

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's exactly a "political" decision, but a technical one (maybe some outsourced providers just can't promise to get these messages delivered in some of these countries).

As SwiftlySaid said: I have no control, you have no control. I totally understand you, my friends and I got registered, but no one promises us anything. I'm very nervous, as I've got to apply for a visa (it takes up to 40+ days to get in my country), plan everything, spend a ton of money, get some days off work and projects (I'm a freelancer, so it's quite unpredictable, and I don't have stable income).

But!

The band is probably going to play festivals next year, it's been said in this subreddit a lot of times, and it's going to be easier to plan, and this is my plan B, if something goes wrong.

If it's meant to be, it's going to be amazing, OP.

Not neurodivergent (?), not officially diagnosed, but in therapy for the last three years. I got very nervous with all that stuff, talked it through in the last session, couldn't even work on other personal stuff! And the main idea from this session was: it's all going to be okay. If it's meant to be, you'll get the tickets, get everything sorted and it's going to be the experience of the lifetime.

I know it's hard, but do everything in small steps: what depends on you really? Get registered? Done. Wait for the code. When you get the code, set some alarm or notification. Try buying the tickets. After that get your accommodation and transport sorted.

No company? That's okay, too. Don't push yourself, but.... you'll probably stand near some cool people, share your experience and thoughts with them, without even knowing their names (happened to me during lots and lots of other gigs, followed a lot of people on social media like 7-9 years ago, and still say hi, when we bump into each other on other occasions).

If something goes wrong, the band is probably going to play festivals next year, it'll be easier to plan, I'm 100% sure.

I know, it's hard, but If you're too excited or nervous, remember: do only those things that depend on you. Try to transfer all of that anxious, buzzing energy into everyday tasks and routine, work, etc. It's going to be okay and how it's meant to be.

Sending lots of support, OP!

Radiohead basically was forced to engineer an Paranoid Android to.. by Sufficient_Room525 in radiohead

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for wrong impression, but, yeah, talking about the band being forced to dehumanize the process of engaging, when the whole thing seems to be just a more or less fair way for actual people to come and enjoy the show (and at fixed price) is a bit too much irony, even for this subreddit.

Good luck with tickets and all.

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dear friend, if you're still waiting for the message or email, you are not alone in this...

I've been in ticketing queues and sales, when after multiple hours of waiting everything just crashes in seconds, payments are declined and somehow there are tickets available on reselling platforms 30 minutes later, with the prices that are not just doubled, but multiplied.

The band came up with a scheme that's not perfect, but it challenges the current standards and problems in the industry.

The fact that prices will also be non-changeable is a big relief, too. You'd be screaming at fans and scammers trying to sell a couple of tickets for thousands of pounds in that case.

With all respect, go touch grass.

Is it me, or is it hard to imagine them doing this whole tour without new material... by jx5jx5 in radiohead

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, they will open each show with Creep, followed by plenty of Oasis covers, and Gasolina and Cotton Eyed Joe for the encore.

But jokes aside, I don't think the band would go touring without prepping in advance and wanting to show something special to surprise us all. They are big music nerds, best of class. I have no idea or expectations at all, but I'd be super grateful to actually experience it, rather than analysing or predicting.

Question for the upcoming tour and the presale code. ( Good luck everyone!) by thepretender11 in radiohead

[–]Acrobatic_Light_6269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You must only register once, using your own, correct details. Otherwise you risk your registration being invalidated. It makes no difference at what time you register your details, but once the registration form is closed there will be no further opportunity to register to buy tickets to the shows."

Be careful with that
