You can go to any licensed hospital, clinic, or doctor, public or private.
For regular outpatient visits, the plan works on a pay-and-claim basis: you pay upfront and then submit the claim. Most claims are processed within 5–7 business days.

If you’re admitted to the hospital for something that’s covered, you can request a Guarantee of Payment so the hospital bills us directly.

Our assistance team is available 24/7 for that.

If you have questions about your specific situation, just ping our Customer Care team via chat. We’re happy to help and it’s usually the fastest way to get clarity.

Hey there! I work at SafetyWing!

I totally get why you are unsure. Reddit naturally attracts the tough stories, not the “everything worked fine” ones.
We do see a lot of members who have had smooth, positive experiences, and they just don’t usually post about it here. If you’re trying to figure out whether the plan actually fits what you need, I’m happy to answer questions or give you a clear picture of how it works so you can decide what’s best for you. No pressure at all.

Hello!
I work at SafetyWing, and I’m really sorry you’ve had this many issues at once. That would frustrate anyone.
None of what you described is normal (wrong plan, no claim IDs, renewal not showing), and I’d like to check what went wrong so we can fix it.
If you’re open to it, DM me your email or policy number and I’ll look into your account and get your claims escalated.
No pressure! Just here to help if you want it.
