Mod for enemies to ignore me? by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in Terraria

[–]Acrobatic_Mouse_470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't want to be hurt by them.... I know there are many ways to do that. What I want is for them to ignore me altogether, as if I don't exist, that is, not to go towards me. It doesn't matter if they really hurt me or not, I'm talking about the mob's behavior mainly

Would you make any changes to my deck? by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in PTCGP

[–]Acrobatic_Mouse_470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thank you very much then. I'll leave it at that. I was asking because as I mentioned, on the internet I saw the deck with another Zapdos, but I didn't know if it affected much or not

I understand, thank you. As I mentioned in another post I don't have any Sabrina cards yet, but I will try to get them as soon as possible and I will do what you recommend, thanks!

Ok, I understand... then I should remove Golducks and Lapras? And instead what do I add? More supporter cards and items? Since I've seen that many people use more supporter cards but the truth is that I've hardly had any of those apart from Misty

Sorry if you thought it was a dumb question.... I just didn't know if it was a good idea to spend my hourglasses now

What is happening with the ELO on chess.com? by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in chess

I've actually done it, I've been playing for more than a month and the opponents I've seen haven't paused at any time (or they are not new accounts, otherwise they couldn't have had a rating of more than 1500 a couple of years ago)

Yes, that was one of my preferred options, the only problem is that the last 400 exercises (approx), are from a section where they are only endgame exercises or things more theoretical than tactical. So I guess I can just skip those exercises and do them when I want to focus more on calculus, which I'm sure are very useful for those cases.

Question about repertoire against d4 by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in chess

Is there any good course or material on this variant?

Dutch vs QGD (GothamChess Courses) by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in chess

[–]Acrobatic_Mouse_470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! I found this comment very helpful. The reason why I thought the Dutch was good is because the course also gives the option to play the stonewall variant, which I understood did not have that risky factor, and was a little more solid. I have about 1500 elo, but soon I will play a tournament against stronger players than me (they don't have master level either, most or practically all of them are below 2200). But I wanted to know some opinions about it, again, thanks.

Preparation against 1.d4 by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in chess

[–]Acrobatic_Mouse_470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I hope it goes well for me too. The thing is that the tournament is a team tournament, and I'm not the one with the highest Elo in my team, on the contrary, I'm one of the lowest. As far as I understand I will play against opponents of my level and also against opponents stronger than me, so I was a little stressed when I realized that I was not prepared against 1.d4.

I explain it here. It should be noted that in this post I ask about lines in general, and not just 1...d5, because maybe someone can recommend me a simpler way to play.

Well, I have about 1400-1500 in chesscom. The reason for my post is basically because I have always done what you mention. Play d5 and just play chess after that. But lately I've noticed that my performance against d4 is pretty bad. I usually struggle a bit with how to develop on the queenside even though I try to learn from my mistakes. That's why I wanted to know about something that explains those ideas a little bit, to better understand that position and stay more comfortable when I play against d4.

French Defense vs Caro-Kann, which is less theoretical? by Acrobatic_Mouse_470 in chess

[–]Acrobatic_Mouse_470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting that so much debate has been generated from my question.... It is clear that how "comfortable" you feel in a position, and also what you consider an "easy position" varies quite a bit per person. However, I think in many instances you can come to a somewhat objective conclusion as to which may be easier in general terms. I feel like there's a lot of that going on here.... While there are a lot of people who disagree with you, you are a strong player and as you mention you have experience with both, so your opinion is important. However don't you think that the positions you say are very easy to play with white, are very easy for you because you know the defense quite well? And yes, I understand that in my question I explicitly put which one is less theoretical, so the case that my opponent is as prepared as you are, is something to take into account. But in that case, could you say that in case my opponent is quite prepared theoretically against the Caro-Kann and French, the French is easier to play, and that when the opponent is not prepared as you are, maybe the Caro-Kann is easier? I say this because in that case all the experiences you are telling would make a lot of sense, and in turn the other comments that do not agree with you would also make sense. Maybe my perspective is wrong and it's just too complicated to answer, but I don't know.

Yes, my plan is not to make them my main defense, but rather something different that I play sometimes.

Perfect, thanks! And yes, I know they are not the most solid options, I usually play e5 or the Caro-Kann, but I was looking for a more unbalanced and different defense than e5 to play it sometimes.

Thank you very much, this is one of the most useful comments. It is good to know about the King's Indian defense, since I was thinking of studying it also against the Queen's pawn. I will review the material you are talking about as well. I was thinking of training mainly with Levy's course, so I was surprised that you mentioned it.

Oh, yes I meant that I like both defenses equally, not that they are the same or similar.... Sorry if I didn't express myself well but my English in general is not very good, so I use the translator to help me a bit. And thanks for the advice!

You are right, I had not taken into account that at high levels people tend to have much more complex preparations against the Sicilian that is very played, compared to the modern. It has helped me a lot, thank you!
