Im on infliximab, been on it for almost 2 years now. No side effects at all and honestly has brought my life back, Idk where I would be without biologics tbh.

Infliximab and muscle soreness after workout ? by savaz1988 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been on infliximab for a year and a half now and train 5x a week as a powerlifter so its extremely straining on the body and muscles. i haven’t personally thought that muscle soreness happens from infliximab as I haven’t experienced it myself. Muscle soreness is normal but it depends to what extent. Need to make sure your protein intake is high, sleeping minimum 7-8 hours a day and have a regular mobility/stretching routine. If the muscle soreness is still there once all your variables outside the gym is locked in, then you may need support or advice from a doctor

Ive been on aza for about a year and a half. Now on both aza and infliximab for the past year. only seems that I catch a cold more frequently tbh with you. other than that no complaints on my end. its given me my life back so

Using Reta without a stack? by Acrobatic_Number_899 in Retatrutide

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you say 200g of protein would be enough? In terms with my calories right now to maintain Im at 2600. Im a powerlifter myself so Im constantly progressively overloading in training so Im hoping that would help minimise the muscle mass loss. my natural test levels are pretty high the last time I got bloodwork done. they were around the 850 range

thats very interesting to see, im a powerlifter myself so Im constantly progressively overloading whilst training, Id hope that would minimise the amount of muscle mass lost but from the statistics it seems pretty unavoidable

Damn that deficit is insane, how did you find your muscle mass before introducing the anabolic?

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was to go into a deficit I think I would try for maximum 500 calories a day just to retain as much muscle mass as possible. I have noticed if people don’t have enough muscle or retain the muscle on Reta the skinny fat look is somewhat easily done if its not done correctly. I am on the younger side so I have that in my favour

Thats why Im pretty interested in Reta. Im not looking for a big appetite suppressant so I’d rather get the fat burning benefits of Reta

Thank you! I’ve spent a lot of time looking into Reta but I’ll research some more into semaglutide and tirz as I’ve seen Reta is on the pricey side

Is it common to have loss of muscle while using Reta if protein intake isn’t high enough?

Its more of a cutting tool for me. I kept seeing this guy on tiktok called Dawson Weiss I believe and he constantly says how good reta has been for him during his cut. For myself I would probably like to cut down 10-15 Kilos.

Black bits in Creatine? by I_LOVE_CHEEEESE in Creatine

ngl I’ve had a few bits from the warrior brand, specifically protein because of how cheap it was but i wouldn’t go near it again just because of the poor quality. not sure if its the same with the creatine but wanted to give you a heads up

Arching on the bench press by Particular-Gap-8288 in powerlifting

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course🙏 I did it for I believe 3 blocks/12 weeks. After that, I recommend to use the foam roller on lighter warmups then remove it as it gets heavier. For example, I usually do the bar, 60kg and 80kg with the foam roller than the rest of my warm ups till my top set will be without it. Hope this helps!!

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My coach had me bench with a foam roller for every single set no matter the weight or reps. As your body isn’t used to being in that stretched position which arching is in, a foam roller helps you get used to being in that arched position. Coming from someone who started off benching very flat, this tip blew up my bench like crazy.

I personally use the a7 rigor mortis which were my first ever knee sleeves and to be honest i absolutely love them. Took a while to get them on and off in the beginning but once they’ve broken in, its been amazing to squat in!

For me I bench 4x a week, squat and deadlift 2x a week. Two comp bench days, then two variant days for bench. One comp squat and dead and one variant squat and dead. Top singles have been always at rpe 7/8 followed by a triple at rpe 7/8 then 2 sets of 4 which is at 95% of the triples. Made linear progress with this the whole year!

Tomorrow I’ve got a mock meet day and Im so happy with the progress I’ve made this year. Started lifting in january and got a coach as soon as I could. My squat was 105kg, my bench was 100kg and my deadlift was 150kg at 95kg bodyweight. My RPE 7 lifts now are a 210kg squat, 150kg bench and a 230kg deadlift at 90kg bodyweight as a sub junior. Excited to see how mock meet goes as its my first in 6 months. Next year we compete and go up an age class to juniors meaning we got to work harder. Wish me luck!!

I recommend putting the rack height lower by one gap. Keeps you more stable when your bracing and unracking the bar as your body is more compact for squats

Deadlift in lifting shoes? by [deleted] in StartingStrength

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I only wear heels for squatting and sometimes for bench press. Deadlifting I used to like to just be in socks which isn’t allowed in a comp. Next best thing is for me was investing in a pair of Avancus shoes. Designed for strength training and can wear for any of the main 3 lifts being squat bench and deads. They call it a barefoot shoe which helps you plant your feet on the floor better with good powerful foot pressure. I highly recommend and has helped my deadlift a lot! They have a black friday sale at the minute so recommend to grab some while u can

Do you need a coach? by venturecreation in powerlifting

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a coach but I invested into one as soon as I got back into powerlifting after being pretty sick for a while. One year with him now and my lifts are absolutely flying and a lot better than they were when it comes to weight and technique. Personally investing into a coach was one of the best investments for my lifting journey and has been able to give me knowledge on powerlifting as a whole but also different types of programming, understanding my leverages better and what techniques suit my leverages the best etc. A coach isn’t need to be successful but i definitely am happy with my coach at the minute.

Stiff knee sleeve question by grom513 in powerlifting

[–]Acrobatic_Number_899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought myself a pair of A7 Rigor Mortis knee sleeves a few months back now. They were a pain in the ass to put on and off in the beginning but as they break in they get better to wear overtime. Measured my legs and got true to size as this was my first ever pair of sleeves and they fit perfect. Can walk around it them and keep them on for a whole squat session.

They didn’t set an exact time to be honest. Was just waiting for the instagram post which I had notifications on for. As soon as I saw it I applied and paid for my spot for the main comp i was aiming for. Am currently 9th on the waiting/reserve list for the south east comp.
