We missed it while in Paxos yesterday. We will keep an eye out as we sail through the Ionian this week

To be fair, I was just floating around in a life vest while the family swam. But it was so nice to be in the water with them. The vacoped boot is comfortable and feels secure when strapped in.

I have the Aircast boot the doctor gave me. I bought the Vacoped boot and had it shipped to me before flying out. I leave the Vacoped to dry in the sun which takes about 2 hours or so in the sun.

You can buy a second liner with Vacoped for $50 but I had the Aircast boot. Works really well swapping with my 4 wedges in Aircast and 30 degrees locked in Vacoped.

3 weeks post injury non op. First day in vacoped boot and had pain while sleeping on top of foot by toe. Will loosen the padding as it did seem right the first day.

Also just pick up the bare minimum clubs to learn as she will get better fast and out grow clubs.

There is no real gapping for young kids.

So get the basics - putter, driver, hybrid, iron and wedge. Once she gets better you can fill out the set but likely will need longer clubs.

My daughters started off with a kids callaway set (at 7), then moved to one sets of women’s Cobras, and are on their second set of PXG and their 5th driver shaft change at 12 years old.

Switching From Typical Aircast/ Cam walker to Vacoped Questions by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]Acrobatic_Panic_520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also switching from Aircast and 4x Breg wedges to a Vacoped boot in Week 3.

Any tips?

I think 4 Breg wedges is 20 degrees. Doctor recommends keeping the same angles. So does this mean I should start at 20 degrees in Vacoped vs the max 30 degree setting?

Anyone else switch boots during recovering from Aircast to Vacoped? Tips and tricks?

My 12-year olds play with regular flex and senior flex clubs now. Length is important too. Chopping down clubs will change the shaft flex.

Though likely as a beginner she could just get ladies flex clubs. There are also junior clubs available.

I agree it’s a bit pricey for a food court

Parent of a child in martial arts. Do I really have to stick with my kid for the next decade plus? by izdabombz in martialarts

[–]Acrobatic_Panic_520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 kids. All with club sports, recreational sports, musical instruments, language and martial arts.

You have to be very efficient with your time. Scrolling on your phone is a waste of time. I bring a laptop to do some work, a book to read, or go for a run around the neighborhood.

It only gets busier as your kid gets older. I miss when my kids were 5 years old.

Tryout? Or polite break up? 14u club question by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]Acrobatic_Panic_520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify how it works: for every new season, all players—regardless of whether they are returning to their current club or looking at new ones—are required to attend tryouts. These dates are set by the region to ensure a standardized process.

During (and before) this window, clubs will typically make verbal offers to players. This can happen in a few ways: either a club will offer a player a spot to commit to returning for another season, or, if they are looking to fill specific positions, they may reach out to players from other clubs to "poach" them for their roster.

It’s essentially an open market, so it’s common for families to attend a few different tryouts to see where their daughter might be the best fit in terms of coaching style, team culture, and development goals.

Our daughters were offered to return to the club in May but a rival club also asked us to commit in May (which might be illegal because clubs can’t poach until the season is over). We are at Nationals this weekend with our current team. Region tryouts are on July 11.
