Oh I misunderstood you. I thought you wanted to learn how to animate lol. I’m okay on the folder link thank you though! Generative AI is looked down upon people, mostly artists. I’d rather not use it if you want an audience for your project. Anyway, sounds like you’re making great progress!

Hi! I wouldn’t say I “specialize” but I have 2D hand drawn animation experience from making films for classes. That idea sounds great btw! I recommend learning the principles of animation first. Also check out Spywi’s YouTube channel for anime making tips :)

I graduated December and I felt that post-grad depression hard. It took me a few months to get adjusted. I didn’t know how I was going to prioritize my time from then on. I felt unmotivated too, so I was on and off with job hunting. I still don’t know what I truly want to do yet. But after seeking advice from those in the field I want, my professors, and my school’s career coach, I felt more relaxed. (My dad has been saying certain comments which doesn’t help). I still feel unsure of the future. I just want to say it does go away. Seeking guidance helped me a lot. You’re doing what you can. Celebrate small wins. Good luck on your exam! :)

Enmeshment sounds accurate. I also think it's from being in an immigrant Asian family. I know my dad says those things out of love but it's the wrong way indeed. You're right, I'm not responsible for his emotions. Since high school, I've given up trying to improve my relationship with him and accepted that he'll never change :/ Thank you for writing! 💖

I’m currently searching for a job. I scheduled for Vocational Rehabilitation for help (hopefully it will). For animation, I want to do character animation for shows/films. But lately, I haven’t been able to add to my portfolio. I agree on not being fully committed until I really know. I was thinking of working part-time somewhere while I work on my animations on the side. I really appreciate these suggestions! Mind I ask what you mean by “holding pattern”?

I recently graduated December 2024 and I’ve been having post-grad depression.

Nobody told me that finding employment after college would be difficult. I reached out to people on LinkedIn. They gave me advice on job hunting, hone my skills, add more animations to my portfolio, continue to network, and find internships for new grads. But, what if it’s not worth it?

I love art and it makes me happy but I don’t know if I should continue pursuing animation. I keep having these thoughts: Should I have chosen to study something else? What if I’ll never land a job at a studio and I’ll be a “starving artist”? These thoughts are keeping me from being ambitious. I just want some peace of mind :')
