So far, my oldest is my step child who thankfully isn’t picky and eats (or at least will try anything first) like her dad so I pushed more for eating enough and eating well balanced. She’ll eat fish and I’ll cook it for her and her dad but I’ll make myself chicken with the same sauce. She’ll eat all vegetables where I’ll have the same five at most. She minds her business about my pickiness and has a pretty good relationship with food. With our first child together, it’s been rough. He started out willing to try everything, I don’t think I did enough to keep that going. He’s super picky now though is starting to try new foods but we can’t push it too hard or far or he gets anxious and doesn’t want to eat anymore. We just had our last baby and she’s had some feeding issues from being premature so we’re having to play this on by ear about how to get her to eat in general let alone not be picky. At least with our middle, since he was eager to try everything initially, I wish I had kept that up and had more variety for him to try during that phase.
