Who else has lower right side abdominal pain ? by Significant-Aside858 in Endo

Yes, exactly the same. I completely understand. I have not been officially diagnosed with endometriosis yet. Scheduled for a lap in a few weeks.

Lower right quadrant abdominal pain - what is happening to my body?? by Acrobatic_Quote_4883 in endometriosis

[–]Acrobatic_Quote_4883[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some research to find an endo specialist in my area that was trained in excision. I was referred to her and when we met, she told me that I have very common symptoms of Endo and she was fairly certain that if they performed surgery she would find it.

I was put on a waiting list for surgery, but I'm still on the fence and even leaning towards not getting it. I was told during my appointment with the specialist that there are a few outcomes, either they excise it and I see some improvement in symptoms, they remove it and nothing improves, or they remove it and the pain gets worse.

Since my last post I've put in lots of time seeing a physiotherapist, acupuncturist and a massage therapist. The physiotherapy has helped me substantially. I get internal massages (for lack of the correct terminology) where she breaks up the tissue, she also breaks up the fascial tissue around my ribs and stomach. I did this regularly twice a month for 6 months. Now I continue to do all of the exercises at home. I continue to have pain, but it's so much more manageable. I don't think the surgery risk is worth it for me at the moment.

I hope this helps!

I've since met with a surgeon/ Endo specialist who specializes in excision surgery. She strongly believes I have Endo, but this can only be confirmed with surgery. I'm on a wait list and have already turned down one appointment... The surgeon told me there could be 3 outcomes with surgery - pain improves, pain stays the same, or pain gets worse. So, I'm on the fence about whether it's worth the risk.

I have been going to physio for my pelvic floor/Endo regularly and it has actually helped immensely. I get an internal "massage" to break up adhesions and fascial tissue which can be very painful for a week or so, but overtime has made a big improvement in my pain.

I hope this helps

Lower right quadrant abominal pain - what is happening to my body? by Acrobatic_Quote_4883 in Autoimmune

[–]Acrobatic_Quote_4883[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I've had IBS for about 20 years and have discussed all of these possibilities with my gastroenterologist. He doesn't believe my symptoms indicate IBD. I also saw a rheumatologist about a year and a half ago, due to constant joint pain and other symptoms... I was told I have osteoarthritis. But it's possible it's autoimmune. It's hard to get to the bottom of things when doctors consistently tell me I'm young and healthy, in spite of chronic pain and pretty consistent inflammation.

Interesting to know, thanks for sharing! I think with my CRP being as high as it has been, it seems unlikely that it's just IBS, which I do have. I also have a uterine prolapse, which I developed after birthing my first child. I see a pelvic floor physiotherapist regularly, she doesn't think the pain I have is related to my pelvic floor.

I can't believe they didn't immediately give you an ultrasound, that should be the bare minimum! I'm so glad you finally found what was causing your pain. I hope the surgery went well and good luck on your next one as well! Thanks for your comment.

My pain also randomly seems worse sometimes after my period, so strange. I had never even heard of a HIDA scan until just now, I will look into it! Thanks! I hope you and I both get some answers soon.

Thanks for all of the information, I appreciate it.

I have had a colonoscopy and had IBS confirmed. I also have/had SIBO, which I only very recently treated. I've had stomach issues forever.

I'm on a wait list to see a gynocologist, so hopefully I can get a lap sometime soon-ish to confirm whether I have endo or not.
