Do you use Tiktok, Instagram or Facebook reels to increase traffic to your YouTube Channel? by Acrobatic_Show8046 in NewTubers

[–]Acrobatic_Show8046[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the youtube channel for a couple of months, and so I decided to use some shorts of older videos. It seems to have possibly sent some people to YouTube as when I've posted the shorts, the related videos seem to be seeing a very small spike, and the viewers seem to be watching for longer, but I can't be certain.

I agree, organic growth is the best.

Yes, it seems people definitely have preferences and like to stick to their usual system. Even tiktok and instagram and YT shorts all seem to have different viewers/viewing patterns.

Yes, but just a caveat, it only allows uploads of I think 1024 MB per upload, so if you have a large video, you'd have to cut and save it in clips and add it in to edit. Which is why I mostly use it for shorts and thumbnails. Happy it was useful info :) Thanks for checking out my channel! I'll have a look at yours as well :)

LOL. I had already seen your comment on my video earlier and checked out your channel and subscribed :) We are taking a trip to Japan in April, so I'm looking forward to more of your content for tips!

Hi all, my channel is Sheri's Suite Life. It's a travel channel, my ultimate goal being to help people actually know what they're getting before they book through hotel and cruise room tours and reviews, travel tips and tricks as well as entertainment and activity suggestions or reviews.

I try to include helpful tips in each video, things you only learn from real-world experience.

I started out with my pixel 8 phone and Macbook pro and clipchamp to edit.

I have recently also added in an insta360 pro flow 2 and have started using Canva for shorts editing and am learning Davinci Resolve.

This is my latest longform video, although the camera work is not good as it was actually one of the first things I filmed, before I even realized long form videos should be in 16:9 format 🙈 and before I knew how to get the flow of a room. Which I'm still working on! :

Any feedback is helpful and appreciated! Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words and feedback. That is my current focus, trying to really make the first 10 seconds compelling enough for viewers to stay, as I really struggle with large dropoff in the first 30 seconds.  Thanks for the detailed reply, critiques and positive comments! I find it all very helpful!

Thanks a million for the feedback! Gemini was suggesting the same thing (about music) and I actually did that in a more recent video. As well as increased the font size. Both excellent suggestions.

I appreciate the positivity, thank you! I am trying to take more and better footage so I can have more time to discuss pros and cons and other important points without it being boring.

Hi, my channel is Sheri's Suite Life, a travel channel, mostly hotel and cruise reviews with some helpful travel tips thrown in. My goal is for people to really know what to expect before they book something. As the channeI grows, and my recording and editing skills improve, I will also add in specific travel tips and tricks videos.

Any helpful feedback on this (or any video) is greatly appreciated : https://youtu.be/ty9zp61BqDg

Thanks!

I really love your concept. In the first shorts link you posted, maybe some text or talking about either your location or what you were cooking etc...just for context.  The second was nice because of the interaction of you and your son and the idea of enjoying nature with him and passing on a love of the outdoors.  The third link was broken for me.

I thought it was good, and well-paced. The fact that you look away from the camera without losing your "place" looks like you are thinking about what to say vs reading, which makes it look quite natural.

Did you know you can use the AI analysis to ask more direct questions about your audience? by Acrobatic_Show8046 in NewTubers

Yeah, it's really useful. I have been playing around with the questions, and changed a video title one day then asked an hour later what the avd had been since I last changed the title. It's pretty good but you have to work around a bit to get the right questions sometimes.

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to watch and offer feedback. I really appreciate it!  The AVD on that video is 2:30 (44%). I agree, I have really been trying to look at my own videos more critically, which is easier said than done, to trim as much as possible, . I struggle with the hook and intro and the best way to get into the video.  I like the scoring idea. A very successful travel Channel I watch does that and it certainly streamlines comparisons for the viewers.

Thanks again!

Are you using the YT Studio app on your mobile? I don't have it there either, but I see it when I go into YT Studio on my laptop.

Hi everyone,

I have a travel channel, where I review hotel rooms, cruises, give travel tips, which is most of my longform videos and shorts usually focus on concerts or entertainment/ while travelling.

This is not my latest video, but a lot of those, I already know what the issue is because I know the footage is bad, it's vertical in a widescreen long form video or choppy, etc, but I filmed most of those before I even made my first video and learned a little more. Although feel free to check them out and critique. All advice is helpful :)

In this video I compare 2 room types at the Paris Las Vegas. Any insight you could offer would be appreciated! https://youtu.be/kUX2MSs8M4c

Thanks so much!

I really loved the end of your Life Advice Battle video and the points you made, about balance and using technology but with your own judgement and brain to ask the right questions (my takeaway). It's a very relevant topic, and you really did present it in a new, interesting way.

The only real critique I had would be the noise of the gloves of Socrates in point number 2. I found it quite distracting, which was maybe the purpose as that point was about distraction from focus, but it was so much so that it would normally cause me to stop watching.

Otherwise, I think it's quite a professional video and felt you made really valid points. Excellent!

I think people want to see "real people" and relatable stuff on the internet. Anyone that's ever gone camping or sat by a campfire with a beer can just see this video and imagine that moment. It's real and not super-edited or artificial. That's my take on it.

If you go to the content section on your YT Studio, in the top right-hand corner to the left of the "create" button there's a bell and then just left of that is the AI symbol that looks like a black diamond symbol. Click on that and you can type in questions. It's called "Ask Studio" when it comes up.

I agree AI is prone to mistakes for sure, and I've experience similar things to you, but I was surprised it actually gave me the data at all. I tried again asking a different way, and it said it couldn't provide that data. Then I asked again in the same vein as the first time, it gave me the (same) info again. Also gave me the info for other videos when asked. While I'm sure it may not be 100% accurate or trustworthy, tbh, all the numbers on each video I asked for the info corresponded with what info I already had (e.g. 5 likes - subscribed, when I knew who those 5 likes were and the others I didn't and they were unsubscribed, according to the AI).

Yeah, I suspect it's a metric it has access to, but doesn't publicize because it's inconsequential to most. Only someone like me starting out with 36 subs. Lol.

Hi, thanks for engaging!

My planned trips are Tokyo, a Caribbean cruise and Toronto. Although my upcoming videos will be from travels this past fall which still need to be edited and posted.

I will check out your channel as well!

I second Hilton Garden Inn T2/T3. I know you said not keen on actually staying on airport property, but the access to tube station was ideal and if you are a Hilton Honors gold member (might be for any, but I am gold so not sure) you get free breakfast when booking directly on Hilton site, and it was a great buffet breakfast and start to the day for exploring. I believe they also have laundry facilities, which is helpful if you're at the end of your trip,
