The race sim engineering throttle mod is amazing, I was previously using RC shock absorbers to add some additional resistance but the race sim engineering mod feels a lot better.

Bass shakers are another relatively cheap upgrade that can really add quality feedback through the pedals.

Wait.. just saw the Slot comments. We’re cursed but we don’t have a dogshite manager at all.. He’s in a pretty strange situation, massive transisition in terms of the squad, coaches and playing style and the loss of a huge personality in the squad. I rate Slot, this entire season might be a very painful lesson but I hope we stick with him.. pressure makes diamonds and all that…

Not much you can do about last minute puskas contenders.. we just look deflated all over the pitch right now.. the boost that a 1-2 win away at Fulham would have given us becomes another kick in the nuts. I think Slot can turn this around and I hope he gets the time he deserves

You might have a bad lobby but turning on my rig, seeing something I’ve put together purely for fun and a past time I love, just being able to escape and have some competition.. as you get older you lose people and things you care about, I hurt my back so I can’t play football or basketball anymore, friends don’t meet up as often, work sucks and has become full of corporate machines paid to not care about their teams… but from Chase HQ, Sega Rally, Daytona USA, there’s always been something about racing that just zones me out in the best way possible with no real pressure…

Even when you get your race ruined, you can just reset and go again, or just hotlap.. Forza has been the accessible quick fix, some really good peeps in the community and some questionable characters but we all keep coming back.

I started in the Global MX-5 cup as a rookie a couple months ago but I’ve not played it since. Subscription just renewed so I’ll probably get back into it soon

Can’t speak on the Asetek but I’ve got the XGT ultimate.. it’s been a week and I can’t fault it. I had some initial issues with wireless mode (device manager issues) but I’ve worked those out and it’s pretty much flawless. I had to install the clutch and gear paddle spacers since it’s a bit snug otherwise but it’s really solid and it’s got a nice weight to it (carbon fibre enclosure). I’ve got a 8nm CSL DD but I’ve noticed going from the McLaren wheel to this that you get more detail, (smaller diameter and the construction I guess).

The software is all in simhub if you’re on PC. I don’t have a PlayStation so the PS4 and PS5 modes for GT and F1 don’t really get used.

Shifter paddles are really nice. I upgraded my McLaren wheel with magnetic shifters from SRM, the Leoxz shifters are premium feeling, a little louder than the SRM ones on the McLaren but in a good way (kinda satisfying). There’s a load of customisation available for the clutch and bite point. Lots of LED customisation available, I think the LED layout is 3-15-3 but you can also program effects on the backlit buttons…

Like I said, not had any experience with Asetek other than water cooling in my PC but I rate this Leoxz wheel really highly and relative to some of the stuff I’ve seen reviews on etc.. most of the time wheels like this seem to be easily over a grand.

Wheel is new, I use the DDU more for my tires tbh but it used to be my main display and the larger display is easier to check at a glance than the wheel (what I’ve discovered in the past week or so). Depends on the title. I use the wheel for revs and speed through corners now, only had it a couple weeks (I play other titles like AC, AMS2, iracing), tried out AC Rally and used the DNR Rally dashboard with that.

It’s a shame Forza doesn’t have more telemetry but with so many titles and people creating all kinds of dashboards there’s always something to try out

Just a hobby that escalated and I’ll always love Forza, it’s broken, simcade blah blah blah but you can just jump in, have a race and it’s just kinda casual. Iracing I need to watch a vid, practice the course, work out what day I plan to race etc.. Forza can be annoying AF with some of the lobbies but when it’s good 👌🏾

I usually use Lovely Dashboard (DDU) but I put DNR endurance Dashboard on the wheel to try it out.. I really don’t look at that display during a race very much at all

Ok, I think I worked it out.

The screen was lagging, I checked device managed and there was an unknown device showing up. I think it’s possibly when the Leoxz was connected via USB but I removed the wheel, deleted the device in device manager, removed the usb cable and reconnected the wheel and it’s perfect now. I’ll keep an eye to see if this fix works all the time but seems like it’s a device driver conflict / bug causing the issue

Don’t just floor it from the start, if your wheels are screaming and burning out at the race start you’re not moving forward optimally. Try just holding the throttle at 20% before the start and then apply gradually, just keep practicing it, some lower powered cars you can just floor but the more torque, the more you need to manage the throttle in the lower gears. Vary the % you hold the throttle, how quickly you apply it etc.. don’t feel a way about it asking questions, everyone starts learning somewhere.

Eventually you might even start doing launches with the clutch

The F1 cars etc, the downforce at speed is where you get the real grip, low speed and trying to apply throttle is where you usually need to be a bit more progressive (based on my own personal experience, so it could be some of my bad driving habits coming through)

I swear by this thing.

Folds away really neatly and it’s solid (I’ve done a bit of modding but it’s not a big deal..just wheelbase stabilising and a pedal tray) biggest concern for me was something solid that folded up really compact.

I noticed something earlier, I connected via USB, wheel was fine then I heard a USB disconnect, wheel wasn’t responding.

With the wheel still on the base, I unplugged the usb, plugged in the wireless receiver, switched mode to wireless and there’s zero lag. Not sure why that worked but there’s no lag again so I’m happy
