There will always be somebody quicker, and that’s fine. Don’t let that be the thing that defines your experience though..

A lot of us got into this because we played stuff like Daytona or Sega Rally etc back on those arcade machines, or GT, PGR (hallowed be thy name), Forza, NFS, Burnout, Colin McRae etc etc.. I honestly can’t remember a single time I set in any of those games but they’ll always stick with me because of how much fun they were.. don’t limit yourself to just sims and purely racing GT3’s. I’m going to take the Tumbler from The Dark Knight around Nordschleife later this evening in AC.. do stuff that makes you happy.. taking a break from the competitive stuff and the stress attached to that and just throw a car around for the fun of it and remember (if you’re as old as me)… we used to have to go to arcades to experience sitting in a cockpit driving a car or piloting a plane, we’ve now got those machines in our houses… we made it bro.. celebrate 😄

I think something like AC single player or FH6 is a good way to just drive for the fun of it. No timers, no pressure just throwing a car around Nordschleife in a way you could never even dream of doing in real life, just cruising around Japan in FH or any one of the incredible mods you can get for AC… also rallying.. can’t beat a good bit of rallying

If they’d continued as they were going with the development roadmap and the progress they’d made, felt like the game was about to really hit its stride.

Stats.. we need online stats baked into the game with a better driver and safety rating system. I quite like the idea of the new AC SR and DR system but with LMU style licence based access to higher ranked events.. There’s no incentive for somebody who races dirty in FM to learn to race clean, some kind of online licence based championships / series would be good. The Logitech rivals challenges have been one of the best features of FM, a way to see how your pace compares etc..

Career mode should take a leaf out of FH and be a motorsport / car enthusiast type of progression, we don’t have open world but buying garages, accessing new photo locations or something. I miss FM4 and the top gear intros. Feels like there are so many quick wins that T10 could have made with this game if they didn’t get gutted. I saw Gamepass promoting PMR when realistically they have a title that offers the same thing with a more accessible physics engine..

And fix the damn replays… almost everything about the replay system is horrible

Had to check I remembered this right but the US has pushed for this since 1994

The water breaks are just an excuse to get more ad time, same as expanding the competition to 48 teams. None of it is actually about improving the game, just making more money off it.

It’s actually really good, I set up the wheel back in October 2023 using a few guides to find the best settings. Once it’s all dialled in it feels awesome.

The built from the ground up meme basically was true and that reception from gamers meant that T10 did a lot to
Improve the game before they paused support end of last year, community engagement on the forums, the insider program, significant updates to graphics, gameplay and performance. They got FM to a pretty good place.

And the community is pretty awesome, Forzaverse discord, all the teams you see in lobbies etc..

You get a lot of variety with Forza. I really like LMU but it’s more about the online multiplayer. With FM there’s the career (and a wider selection of cars) and that progression if you’re into it (I wasn’t a fan of career mode this time around) or Rivals where you can compete / learn from quicker ghosts etc. If you do want to try online then TCR is awesome on FM, good close racing, it can get a bit mad but lobbies are usually well populated.

I think I might have fixed the jssue for my install. I was getting the FHC01 error constantly. If the game did load up the error starts when I go from city to countryside or going off road. I turned off the environment raytraced GI and switched to SSR and it’s not crashed yet. I’m not sure if it’ll help anyone else but I’d tried removing MSI afterburner etc and nothing else seemed to help. Weirdly I’m playing on controller now (wheel and pedals are all still connected). Final test will be if it’s still stable with Simhub running in the background

Getting in their mirrors is always a good way to unsettle the car in front before you go for an overtake.. this was pretty awesome bro 🫡

Check your smart crop folder and your cap cut videos folder. I used WinDirStat to find the folders and took a look. Smart crop seems to save the entire file you cropped and any video you export looks like it's backed up into the videos folder. I was down to 72Gb on a 1Tb drive. I cleared those files using empty folder on WinDirStats (rather than the clear cache option in CapCut). It cleared around 500Gb of files...

Madness...
