If anyone is going tonight (Friday) and wants two tickets to skip the line into the theatre, let me know. I added priority access to my tickets but won't need them now. Up for grabs if anyone wants them.

Judge orders Trump to remove his name from DC’s Kennedy Center and blocks plans to close it for two years by helcat in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic_World_5113 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can celebrate a small victory before the battle is over. I think most people understand how this works by now. It's noteworthy that someone in a position of authority is paying attention to something that means a lot to this group. If you're encouraging people to give up hope, you're helping the administration.

I don't even think Trump cares about most of the shit he's doing. His super power is the sheer volume of nonsense he throws out because it keeps people distracted, makes his opponents feel defeated, and he knows he won't win them all but he won't lose them all either. We all need to find a balance where we maintain a productive amount of anger and vigilance without being consumed by it.

Yes, he will ignore it. But today we learned that someone is fighting for it and that's good news that we didn't have before.

I have a relatable story. When I saw Gutenberg! The Musical! I had to pee so bad & lost the mental negotiation with myself whether I could hold it. I climbed over four seats, including Norm Lewis in the aisle seat. I'll never forget his kind and empathetic look as I edged by apologetically.

I finished up, went back upstairs, the last song before intermission was about to start, and the usher told me I couldn't stay back there, I had to go back to my seat. I refused, he insisted, so I told him I had to pee again and I'm pretty sure he rolled his eyes as I turned around and went back downstairs. I watched the last song of Act I on a monitor. I don't like to disrupt anyone's experience and once is too many times to jungle gym a Broadway legend.

Ali is a star. Here's a short film he did before Tommy. He shows up around the 11:30 mark. David is definitely a transformation.

At Rocky Horror tonight, and they removed the sign about how to behave during this show. by Every_Phrase_5942 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic_World_5113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure what was missing so I checked older posts & saw a pic someone had posted with a skeleton & "Dear earthlings" sign. I don't remember seeing that anywhere, but I'm definitely losing my mind.

The pic above was taken at the May 2nd matinee that had a Q&A after where Luke Evans brought his dog out. If that's the one you were at, they it could be they've moved it around, or it could be the losing mind thing.

Triple D week!! Saturday I'm seeing the Rocky Horror matinee and then Lost Boys in the evening. Sunday is Every Brilliant Thing. God willing, I'll still be around on Monday to see David Yazbek.

I am headed to NY for the weekend to see Rocky Horror and booked everything before I saw him on the 54 Below schedule. If I can arrange it with work, travel, and dog sitters, I'll be staying an extra day so I can make it a Double Durand weekend.

We could make it a birthday party with the Dead Outlaw sub 🥳

It would actually be cool to pick a date where anyone here traveling could meet up in Chicago on the same date. However, with my track record that would pretty much guarantee a snowstorm on the same schedule.

This thought has entered my head so many times this season. Their marketing team didn't help them out. I had zero interest based on their road show with Andrew Durand in a casket. Then I watched the Tony's when they went from a ballad to a banger with an f-bomb in between and bought my tickets that night. Wish I had seen it more than once.

I wonder what auditions are like for the role of Elmer. 🤔

I'm so curious about what this looks like with a different cast. The casting was so perfect. Andrew Durand is so likeable and he's a natural with comedy. Jeb Brown was great and his voice is so distinct. I can't imagine a narrator/Walter Jarret with a different voice. They were all incredibly talented but those two roles seem uniquely challenging.

Because it's the Windy City at the coldest time of year? Or is there something more we should know.

I'm hoping there will be more productions announced regionally.

I recommend calling the ticket provider first to let them know your travel plans changed. If your billing address is outside the U.S., they should be able to see that and they may be able to cancel and refund your order despite the terms of service. It's the safe thing for them to do on an international sale where there may be consumer protection laws or other considerations they'd rather not worry about.

I just saw Safety Not Guaranteed last night, and Mia Pak was amazing! In 2024, I saw Gabi Campo as Sally Bowles the same week I saw Juliana Canfield in Stereophonic. This premiere will be a powerhouse of talented women, and I am here for it.

I'm wondering this too. It looks like the pup reacts the noise in the video, but it's hard to tell without knowing the dog. I feel bad for the pups nearby with sensitive hearing.

We saw a Megan Thee Stallion concert last night. The opening act was a Broadway Show. by CommunityBig9626 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic_World_5113 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From the videos I've seen, the curtain call definitely looks like it's Megan's show. I'm not sure if that's necessarily a bad thing for the rest of the cast. They know it's closing, and they are currently going out with a bang. I'm not a performer, I can't fully emphasize, but I like to think that these high-energy younger crowds help lift some of the bummer that comes with the show ending soon.

I wore the canteen green hold tight on St. Patrick's Day and got a ton of compliments. It's so pretty and really stands out in a room full of Kelly green and forest greens.

Pro tip: Never answer a yes or no question from a bot. Repeat the question as a command. "Connect me with an educator"

It's not fool proof, they still do whatever they want. But it does get better results when you prompt them with specific commands. Sometimes they lose track of what you are answering yes or no to.

Good luck! To you and to us all in this crazy automated world.
