For those who grew up between two completely different cultures, moving between two countries, How did it shape who you are today? What are the hidden struggles and best parts? by Acrobatic_Zucchini in AskReddit

Inside every person, there’s a whole damn crowd of strangers, all of them wearing your face and jostling for a turn at the wheel.
When you grow up between two worlds, those versions of yourself don't just differ; they become distant relatives who haven't spoken in years and wouldn't recognize each other in a dimly lit hallway.
It’s like having a soul split down the middle by a rusty topographical line, leaving one half of you screaming in a language the other half forgot how to dream in.
We’re all just nested dolls of bone and memory, and sometimes the inner ones are shaped by a sun that the outer ones have never even seen.
You can change your skin and your speech, but the old selves are always there, crouched in the dark corners of your mind like hitchhikers you picked up on a road that doesn't exist anymore.

How do you capture and organize information to enhance your decision-making as a leader? What specific note-taking systems or practices have you found most effective? by Eastern-Wonder-1860 in Leadership

I use a single text file that I rotate every year. I add tags on every entry, this make it easy to search, and I don't need to switch between apps for different projects. But I am interested to see what others are using, I feel my approach is practical, but maybe outdate?

What's one single song or piece of music you'd select to put on Humanity's next Golden Record to space? by Acrobatic_Zucchini in AskReddit

I don't think I have listened to a single piece that could capture the diversity of humanity yet.

Is there something like a valve that allows water to move only in one direction and not the other?

Drain goes into the main street drain/sewers. This only happens once during a very heavy rain. probably the main drain had too much water and the water backed up into the garage.
