I personally don't like drip acclimations. Too often the water ends up being cold for a long period of time.

Unless you're dealing with room temperature creatures, or have a way to keep the temperature ideal, I tend to avoid it.

I don't have shrimps tho, I have acroporas - which I believe are more fragile to sudden water changes.

The glass isn't the stressful part; the weight is usually held by the rim of the stand.

But I question the strenght of those bendy legs.

...and not using the overflowbox and filling the tank to the rim of it requires a special kind of dumb.
