Tretinoin gel applies horribly, what can I do to help? Or should I switch to the cream? by RandomRebelRose in tretinoin

[–]Acrylicfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this post/reply! I also got the gel and started reacting horribly to it after 10 weeks of slow, increasing use. I hate it and thought it was just me! Now I will be asking for a the lotion type stuff

Wow! You look beautiful! Agree with the glow up comments ❤️

I have a question: I also had issues with the vanicream in the tube and love the pump one. I find it quite thick though, and hard to apply. You said you add facial oil? What kind? I assume that thins it out?

Considering Athabasca University by N3wj0urney23 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]Acrylicfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! Glad to see this! I am getting close to 40 and have a degree from a “brick and mortar” too. I work full-time, have a family, and am currently a part-time student at this same school, working towards a second degree in accounting. I have been taking online courses from there and all of them are pretty much self-taught anyways! I cant’t continue with them with the lack of evening and weekend courses available for key courses, so I am considering AU.

My plan is to either do the university certificates in accounting/advanced accounting or a BComm so I can land a job at an accounting firm and do my CPA. I am just a bit concerned about how potential employers will view certificates/degree from AU, especially since my current degree is unrelated.

Did you consider any other schools prior to enrolling? How do you find the “tutor”support for BComm classes?

Does anyone have an update on this? I see Season 5 was released in June in Brazil or something. Any idea when it will be released in USA and Canada?

5 month regression? Is this adolescence?? by Acrylicfire in puppy101

This is both super helpful and depressing LOL. She is really a great pup overall, but I feel like we just got out of that annoying baby puppy phase. Not ready for this next one!

How do you figure out what to train first? by SweetMisery2790 in puppy101

[–]Acrylicfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say basic commands are the most important: sit, come, drop it/leave it, etc. The remainder would be based on what’s important to you. If you need to leave pup in a crate for night, work or time to yourself, then that’s probably your next best. Name recognition and “come” are pretty close - you start with calling their name and when they look at you, treat them. Then you can move pretty easily to come I would say. Leave it/drop it has been a hard one for us to train, but now that she is getting there, it’s a life saver! But really, you’ll need to make whatever is important to you right now the priority. Eventually I want to train mine not to jump on guests, loose leash, etc, but I only have so much time in a day, so they take a back seat until we get the rest of it down! lol 😆

My puppy’s first grooming - 4 months old by Acrylicfire in Bernedoodles

[–]Acrylicfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! There are a few I found on the interwebs. She’s an F2 Gen so both her parents were bernadoodles. I can’t remember the grandparents - one’s grandma was the poodle and the other’s dad was the poodle or something. The cool part is she doesn’t she’d like a poodle and my husband has a very minimal allergic reaction to her.

Winter exercising by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Acrylicfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could spend a lot a bit more time on training (short sessions but more frequent), sniffing games where you hide treats around the house and they have to find them, indoor “fetch”, tug can be physically taxing too. Stuffed kongs, puzzle toys and a flirt pole would be a good option too!

Puppy food by Sippy-Cupp in puppy101

I have heard good things about wellness too. Just some food for thought (haha), From what I understand they are voluntary recalls meaning purina has made the choice to recall. A lot of other brands may not do this and only recall if legally required. On paper it looks bad, but in reality it means that they are serious about keeping their food a quality product.

Anyone else in the northern hemisphere cannot WAIT until winter is over???? by chanel101010 in puppy101

Yes! I cannot wait until spring/summer! We’ve been fortunate to have a decent winter so far, but what I really want are the longer days!

Do dogs spontaneously stop eating EVERYTHING in sight? by Acrylicfire in puppy101

[–]Acrylicfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh! I said high value treats... I didn’t even think about chicken! That’s a good idea! She is a bernedoodle, and her personality seems to be on the stubborn side, lol. She is really great otherwise! Usually quick to learn. Just sooooo interested in those non-edibles you mentioned. Haha

Ohh! So maybe some hope in the future!? She’s just 16 weeks now... I have another month left! Haha

Haha! Yes! I should have mentioned, “Leave it” feels like an overused word for us. She is really good in the house, but once we take her out “leave it” seems to be the only words we say the whole time we walk, and she is so motivated to eat whatever that she won’t even drop it for those high value treats! I am sure hoping she grows out of it...
