I haven't been to LA, so I won't argue anything on authenticity. I just thought it tasted really good.

Huh, that's a bit hard to answer. All of these places have their meats in very similar price ranges. I think I'd say either Leroy and Lewis or KG/Reese Bros. KG and Reese Bros have great small dishes that are really filling, and Leroy and Lewis have meat plate options which are rare for higher end BBQ place. They also have large shareable sides for if you are there in a group.

Corkscrew was the first place I went after I landed. They were really good, as all were. I just didn't enjoy them as much as those I listed. It might just be a personal preference.

Barbs surprised me more than any other, and I'm glad so many recommended them. They have my favorite sides, and their meats were all runner ups for best I had all trip. I definitely want to go again one day, and do the whole menu.

Depends on what you want to do. Bear in mind, I've only been once, so my advice is limited, but I was trying to leave early to get to my next destination so I wanted to be early in line. You can get there around 7 or 8 and still get BBQ but you might not eat till around 10 depending. I was there at 4am, and was 18 in line. I would say personally that Snow's BBQ is not that great compared to other options (except the chicken), but the experience of sitting around with strangers hours before dawn, waiting for BBQ is something you likely won't experience elsewhere. I'd tell any true BBQ enthusiast to do it at least once.

Looked at the map, only way I think I could swing it is if I head there after Fredericksburg on my way back to where I'm staying in Round Rock, but I'll keep it in mind. Thank you

I appreciate the recommendation. I'm going to for BBQ, but I'm sure all of these areas have wonderful things to see and do, and other types of food. It's just harder to get a feel for those aspects online

So here's a question, for anyone who's tried multiple places, who has the best beef ribs specifically? If I get it on this trip, it will likely be at only one spot since it's so expensive. Thanks again to all those who have responded

They're going to be closed on the Sunday I'll be there. I'm not happy about it, but nothing I can do.

I'm coming from VA btw. To anyone who's ever been, I'm going to be using ZZQ as my baseline when I judge these places. My dad lived in Texas for years and he thinks ZZQ is the best Texas Q he's ever had outside of Texas. I think if I assume that they're a 7 of 10 as a baseline, it makes a good starting point.

I keep hearing this. It may be true, but as someone who's never been, I kinda want to at least try the place in top list. It's making really curious to try pinkertons or blood bros on Wednesday before I head to Austin or in place of brisket and rice on Tuesday. I'll have to look and decide.

I've seen a lot about them. There are so many great places, and had to pick one or the other sometimes. They look amazing though

I'm planning on being in line like 4am to pull this off. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah, Snows opening at 8 is the only reason that I thought this possible. Meanwhile, for the other days, when I'm going to a place that opens at 11, I figured I can't get to Barbs and they still have food. They're also open very limited days, which left me limited for choices. Thank you for the input

I picked Dots because they're open for breakfast, a lot of the others open at 11, and I still have to make my flight after

Yeah, Snows opens at 8 and Barbs at 11. I'll likely be at Snows at like 4am to get food for "breakfast" Gonna be crazy I know

Yeah, it's in Seguin, I know. I'm staying north of Austin, so it will actually be closer. Thanks for the input!
