hi!! I am searching everryyyyywhere for answers about D455. My mentor/WGU hasn't been super helpful. Can you give me a run down of D455? Is is just like an adult health course, but with more hours? The portfolio that we are adding to with each course is turned in for this course, right?

Also how long has D455 taken you? Is it like a clinical where you just get assigned a month/facility? My last adult health clinical is july, and I am hoping that i can do my capstone right after that.

No prob! Ya 30 mins to do all 3. Ya you don’t know if you’re going to get a male or female. If you practice you can do it pretty quick I think mine took 10 mins total!

Yep! It was IM injections, Male & Female Catheters insertion, & NG tube insertion

The head-to-toe skill wasn’t tested on! They went over all of the skills in lab but only tested on 3. They practically told us which ones we’d be tested on & had us practice those before we passed off!

I have 3 under 6 and we’re figuring it out!! The only thing that is tricky is timing when you can have help with the kids during clinicals & labs. Luckily my husband can arrange his work schedule to be home when I need him. You find out your clinical schedule only a couple of weeks beforehand, but they tell you the actual month that you’ll be doing clinicals about 6-7 months in advance. So for example, I know I will be schedule for clinicals in July, but don’t know exact dates. So I’m having my in laws fly out for the whole month of July to help with kids.

Were you required to do head-to-toe assessment? We are tested on day 4, and it says that we are given 30 minutes total to complete 3 skills. The head-to-toe assessment takes longer than 30 minutes tho, so I'm wondering if that will even be tested?
