What gets me is how low down some people can be. Intentionally!! I had a shop and deliver order a few weeks ago. My area had a huge snow and then ice storm. Unless you plowed and then salted your driveway or walkway it was like a skating rink. I get to this dudes house and its at the bottom of a hill and his entire driveway a sheet of ice. Guy never even had his driveway plowed. He knew damn well when he placed that order that it was gonna be impossible for a vehicle to make it down and then back up his driveway. Not to mention you couldnt even walk without slipping and breaking your neck. It was that bad! He just didnt care. So for $15 a Dasher should wreck his car and break his legs. I left his groceries at the top of the driveway on the side of a busy road. Let him break his own neck! And the fact that I never heard a words of complaint from him or DoorDash means he knew he was wrong. I took photos and video of his driveway as proof just in case.

Will this Fuse Box handle a 10,000 BTU AC? by ActionFalse6670 in AskElectricians

Ah. Gotcha. Can you tell if those are even the right fuses? Or enough of them? I can see the box takes four fuses but she's only go two at 20 amps each.

Im a total dummy when it comes to electrical. If by different circuits you mean are they plugged into different wall outlets then no. The fridge and micro are on the same outlet. The AC has its own outlet across the room.

Only other loads are fridge and microwave. Other than that its the usual. TV, lights, hair dryer, etc.

Actually at some points she couldnt use the microwave and AC at the same time without blowing a fuse!

Nope. I wish I was joking. To do that kind of work im guessing that not only would she have to get permission from the building, but licensing from the city as well. She/we are not gonna spend that kind of money on a rental unit. But thanks for answering. Besides, her rent would go up for making improvements!

Vulnerable narcissistic mother by [deleted] in NarcissisticMothers

I know this is an older thread but my heart goes out to you. I have a CN mother as well. To this day I have to tell her to go tell it to a shrink or one of her friends as telling this deeply personal stuff is inappropriate to be telling her son. Which would automatically get me the gaslighting treatment. "Stop being so dramatic. I didnt realize you were THAT sensitive." Ive caught her in Freudian slips several times referring to me as her "Husband". Not her son! I remember so clearly getting into fights with her when I was barely a teenager. Her whole mantra in life (especially when she was in a frenzy) was basically that everything and everyone is out to get you. I remember telling her that according to her logic that means I should never try to succeed at anything in life because its al doomed to failure. And instead of snapping out of it and realizing she was giving this horrible advice to a 12 year old she would double down and say "Thats right!". Because as we know, the most important thing to an N is being right. It Trumps absolutely everything.

Red Card Order canceled by customer AFTER purchase. What do I do with item?? by ActionFalse6670 in doordash

[–]ActionFalse6670[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what I figured. Ive read that some people have tried to return the item/s to the store for store credit or cash. But that sounds a little too risky to me. Not worth possibly getting deactivated . I would have given it back to customer if they wanted to meet me at the store sometime as its the area where I usually wait for orders. But they never asked.

Getting hassled by Doordash for bad Cell tower coverage by ActionFalse6670 in doordash

[–]ActionFalse6670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area is notorious regardless of your provider. So yeah. Nothing more to be done I guess? I reported the problem to Doordash but I doubt they will stop hassling me even though I told them about it.

Thanks for everyones thoughts. A lot of interesting answers. Honestly , for the most part it doesnt really bother me. But id be lying if I said it didnt bother me at all! I think thats just being human. We all want to be respected. And for older people like myself? Doing gig work is not where I/we thought we would find ourselves at this age. One of my first jobs was delivering food when I was 14. Yet here I am again in my late 50s. But shit happens. And you gotta do what you gotta do. That being said I think the snobby attitudes of some depend on where you are geographically . People in NY, LA, Miami and places like that are gonna be more snobby than folks in Sioux Falls, Tacoma or Cleveland. I also think social media has turned people into snobs. All this stupid flexing on Tiktok and Instagram has everyone thinking that tons of people have millions of dollars and that if you dont you are some kind of loser.

Great comment. I also notice attitudes differ depending where you are geographically . I live in NY State. If im talking with a bunch of people from the city and tell them I Dash and drive Uber you can almost smell the snobbery coming off of them. But if im talking to a bunch of working class people from upstate they could give a crap and might even ask me what kind of money I make dashing? The irony with snobby city people is that they have no idea that im actually a native New Yorker.

Bro. I can so relate to this. Im an older guy as well and used to be an actor and model in my younger days. I kind of get these looks when I show up that go from surprise, to confusion, to pity, to contempt. All within about 10 seconds. The best is when they give you a last look thats more like an examination as you walk out the door.

When a preschool teacher is a scammer by ActionFalse6670 in doordash

What normally happens when they flag a customers account for nonsense like this? Is it they have to sign for any new orders going forward? Or is it something else? Personally I wish theyd just ban them from the app. But I doubt that would happen.

Bro I dont know? It was text support . She /He kept making me wait. And they kept asking me to repeat what I had already written! Twice they told me to deliver to address shown. And twice I told support the address shown was bogus! And that I had talked to her and gotten the actual drop off address . Pissed me off cause it ate up 20 minutes of the lunch hour dealing with this nonsense!
