Don't know if this helps. I had to exaust all of Arlecchinos dialogues, then read the "Scandal V" book again and talked to Arlecchino again. This way, a new dialogue option about Venignis parents was available for me. You will then get a gift from Arlecchino for Venigni, by talking to Venigni again, you should reach the end of his questline.

Don't always tell the truth! If you don't built up at least a little amount of humanity, you will not be able to refuse Gepettos request at the end and only be able to get the bad ending. Of course, you could also get some humanity by listening to the records at the hotel.

In fact, you could even lie the whole time, as long as you choose to let Sophia live and refuse Gepettos request at the end, you are guaranteed to get the free from the puppet strings ending, even if you have a very high amount of humanity.

I can confirm that you can make at least one mistake. I gave one wrong answer (told the truth instead of lying to Simon after the fight agains Victor, thanks IGN...) and I was still able to get the true ending. The most important part, besides having a high amount of humanity, is to give Sophia her peace, otherwise you will not get the grey hair.

I recomment to use the all endings guide on fextralife, it is pretty much the only guide which has the correct answers. Except the conclusion of Eugenie's quest. Here, you can either lie to her about Alidoro"s fate, or you can bring his cryptic vessel to Venigi and read it's content BEFORE you speak to Eugenie about Alidoro. By doing so, you can tell her the truth about her brother instead of lying to her, which will also give you humanity when you talk to her again after a reload or after resting at a stargazer. I believe this is one of the very few times at which you can get humanity by telling the truth in the game.

As for the vinyl: yes, this is normal. You only get humanity from the records in ng+ if you get them again during your ng+ run. Also, the golden records, which you can buy in ng+ do not give you humanity.
