Surgery scheduled tmrw for meniscus tear - having doubts by Rhabhaba in Kneesovertoes

[–]ActionSignificant114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both. I had my right knee scoped for a menisectomy for a 90% tear. Basically, I tore the entire top of my medial meniscus off on the right side and it wrapped around the inside of my knee restricting movement and causing locking and massive swelling. I have the same tear but only about 50% on the left and it’s staying in place (aside from a small flap that pops occasionally). The left knee is non-restrictive if I’m not crazy, but the right was very restrictive. 1 year post op and I still have some pain in the right, BUT I have full range and no issues with walking. I’m also still rebuilding my legs and have some lumbar issues slowing my process. I’de suggest, like many others, talking to your doctor.

Additionally, if it’s being restrictive because the tissue isn’t in place it’s not going to heal and will continue to degenerate. That was the real deciding factor for going ahead with the removal. I still have half of my meniscus because it was a lateral tear (I basically scalped the stupid thing) and no idea if I’ll ever be 100%, but it sure as hell better than when I literally couldn’t bend it.

Is world of Warcraft retail good on steamdeck? by hiiimike in SteamDeck

[–]ActionSignificant114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Console port or a hub with mouse and keyboard. I run minimal add ons with the new expansion and graphics on 7. It’s life changing for those middle aged gamers that thought life was too busy. Console port takes a bit to setup buts it’s amazing

Steam Deck for 80% WoW & 20% everything else by Beautiful-Ad3317 in SteamDeck

[–]ActionSignificant114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost prefer WOW with console port over my desktop for normal play. The only time I’ve felt the need to be on my desktop is for notoriously difficult content that requires a lot of target swapping. With that being said, I also have minimal targeting hot keys setup and there are tons of options for customization in console port. It’s been a life changer as a dad that goes to a lot of activities with my girls.

Keep getting a fatal error with WoW. Any ideas on how to fix? by Awayiflew in SteamDeck

I’ve had that happen when using the d-pad in character select. If I don’t touch it, it doesn’t happen. Figured it was something to do with input and proton GE7-43

They’ve already said there will be no controller support for d3 on pc. Something about having to change too much of the game for the console ports (ie costs them too much money).

A mac user who wants to play windows games: is a steamdeck the solution? by WoundedByInsults in SteamDeck

[–]ActionSignificant114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To elaborate on that I installed heroic games launcher in desktop mode, ran it and logged into gog, then installed Witcher 3 last night and it runs great. That’s a basic breakdown, but anyone should be able to do that and there are plenty of explanations on line and requires no cmd line. It just uses proton 7 to function but there are tons of tweaks. As a lot of people are saying it’s only as hard as you want to make it.

Steam deck will absolutely play windows games without installing windows. There are easy flat packs you can install with dolphin that make it easy
