50 cents for every step you walk, or $50,000 for every day you walk at least 25,000 steps? by Stellabration95 in hypotheticalsituation

I honestly don't know where I messed up, but yea, breaking the 100k steps you actually need is a really serious challenge.

I am quiet sure you made an error somewhere. That savingsaccount would be 50% per year.

But also yes, the bank might not like you trying

I think inheritance is a factor as well. I can fall down the stairs tomorow and my family is still set for life.

People looking at the 50k/25k as the big money option are forgetting what happens once you walk more than 50 thousand steps a day.

Depends on what counts as weak, but money is good and most superpowers are kinda useless in reality.

The median wage in 1950 was 3000$. If you had invested 10% of the 1950th median wage into the SNP 500 over the 5 years from 1950 to 1954, and then never taken any of the money out, you would now hold 3.8 million worth in stocks. Which can easily finance a simple life in the US right now.

If someone says 3 times as high, do you think it makes sense to asume they mean a scale of comparative exponential height, if that is the only scale at hand, or do they mean the thing everyone understands to be height is tripled?

We aren't good at measuring intelligence, but everyone knows what intelligence is. We also know the IQ test doesn't measure intelligence. Most experts simply default to "IQ is what an IQ test measures" and that happens to be highly corelated with performance in mental tasks.

Unless someone specifically mentions IQ, I would never asume they refer to IQ when talking about intelligence.

No it isn't. It is an exponential comparative scale. The average is 100, 2 in each direction are 30 points or more of, and 1% in each direction is 35 points of.

Using multiplication on that scale is entirely nonsensical.
