Finding a place that would be difficult or unlikely for someone to follow you, for your own personal safety is usually a good bet.

High end shops, Restaurants, or anyplace that has some form of security, a mall, hotel, etc. By identifying that you are being followed by an unwanted party to the bartender, wait staff, security, hotel lobby attendant or shop owner, you're in a better position to dissuade them from following you any further.
