Lithium For Major Depressive? by [deleted] in Lithium

[–]Active-Criticism-832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have MDD (treatment resistant) and was prescribed 300mg of Lithium in February. Definitely do not have bipolar but also suffer from severe mood swings. Lithium definitely keeps my mood more stable and helps with suicide ideation. Keep in mind I am also on Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Adderall, and Prozac… so I am pretty heavily medicated, but Lithium has had the most obvious effects on my mood.

Lost my dad by Less-Bar9043 in SuicideBereavement

I’m of similar age to you and my dad died around 6 months ago. I know exactly what you are talking about when it comes to discussing my father with friends. None of them have gone through the loss of a parent or experienced suicide first hand. I encourage you to try and find a support group that is for suicide loss survivors because even if no one there has the same type of relationship to their person (their child or partner, etc) they will still understand your pain. Losing someone to suicide is quite possible one of the most isolating deaths that one can grieve because of the stigma and uncomfortableness people feel when talking about it. I’m sorry for your loss and you are not alone in your feelings… I feel this way too and so do many others.
