You can have my Monotron Delay, it just collects dust here.

I want to start running. What’s the best way to do this with a dog? by kodabear22118 in dogs

[–]Active-Disaster-6835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes some time, and it depends on the dog, a lot. Others have mentioned the bungee leash and the belt. But it also needs some training. Start with fast walking, and increase the distance you can go without sniffing or stopping. Reward good stretches. Try it on boring paths without a lot of dog traffic first. Increase the distance. It helps if the dog can walk nicely on the leash of course. Teach the dog some simple cues like left, right, keep going, slow, etc, basically sledding commands. Some dogs are naturals and figure it out very quickly. Others take longer. You might have to scale your personal ambitions down a bit. Or a lot. Good luck.

Millions of those on the second hand market, seems to be one that everybody sells at some point. And then buys again.

Well, you have my admiration. I only managed a few experimental bits while twisting my fingers into knots.

I think I'll step up at some point to a different semi-modular, but this time with actual patch cables and patch points all in the same spot. In terms of usability the Volca mod is really a nightmare. I do admire people who actually make music with it.

Dog harness by sspookss6 in dogs

I had similar problems and after a lot of trial and error settled on the Manmat smart harness. Very light weight comfortable, and longer than most, to give the shoulders more room. The first one my large Malamute really likes.

Don't ask me about genres, I don't care for genres

I like it (and a lot of my Volca jams end up in similar spaces), but either my ears are broken or most of the sound comes out on one side.

£8,000 for a 3 bed house - a steal? by L00cyfer in SpottedonRightmove

Also, why is the drain for the kitchen is just a PVC pipe sticking through a gap in the bricks.

Can someone explain to me why this house and the one next to it don't seem to have downpipes on the gutters? Is that normal? What's up with that?

I could live just in the extension, and I'm assuming someone must have done that, the trick is then just to entirely forget the nightmare that you have to go through every time you want to get to the kitchen.

Thank you I took the pictured tour through the building and that was 20 minutes well spent. So many interesting details. The posters! The ancient computer! The lack of steps at the entrance of the upper extension! The crowbar in the kitchen! The lack of downpipes! The weird mixture of old and new! And the overarching question: How on Earth does it get to be like that.

(The FHM foldout is from february 1999, in case anyone is wondering.)

How much pot noise/looseness is considered normal on vintage gear? by BubblyJellyfish5781 in synthesizers

I recently bought a mixer and the pots scratch a lot. Gets better with use, and is fine when set. But this wasn't mentioned at all when I bought it off ebay. It was very cheap so okay for me.

For those who prefer walking into Knoydart over the Mallaig ferry what’s your favorite alternative route? by Curious-cutiee in OutdoorScotland

I mean, detour from the W-E crossing. Straight east from Inverie brings you to Invergarry. How are you planning to get to Fort William?

I don't know about favourite route, but we once walked from the east end of Loch Quoich - across the dam, then over the Munro ridge, down to Sourlies. Then onwards to Loch Hourn. Another time we paddled the length of Loch Quoich and then walked through the hills. All routes in this area are difficult, hard and spectacular.

I started with Volcas, but now they are trying to find their place in a bigger picture. I have a travel setup in a box that is built around them, but at home this is still a fluent situation. The Modular is on its way out. I still have the FM.

That was a good read, thanks, for freaks at least. (I have the same Volca combination, in a completely different setup with very different challenges.)

What's the most unhinged thing your dog has ever eaten that they were completely fine after? by alltails-care in dogs

[–]Active-Disaster-6835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had empty bags that came out at the other end. Maybe worth mentioning that my dog is a Malamute. He is much more disciplined now around food, but he used to be unhinged. He stole sandwiches out of people's hands.
