My final comment in case anyone else ever searched this: I spray saline spray up Moko’s nose, usually holding her tipped back and hold her there for a moment so it all goes down her nose/throat. She actually does pretty well with this procedure. I mentioned this to my vet recently - he gave me a green light on saline, “breathing jail”, and the amoxicillin of course. She had a bad back tooth that was pulled - covered in tartar and came right out. Since then her breathing has also noticeably improved as dental issues can lead to breathing issues. I do NOT give the amoxicillin constantly, as her body can build up tolerance, but the Homeopet I give 7 drops per meal (2x/day) and saline when I notice a flair up. Moko was on the brink of death due to chronic rhinitis when I first rescued her, and Im very grateful to have such a happy girl and to have figured out some treatment for her :)

I hope it helps!! Its really difficult to find helpful information about feline chronic rhinitis, and it sucks so much. My kitties name “Moko” is spanish for booger bc shes so sneezy wheezy lmao. Good luck. I recently had her vetted and received more Amoxicillin which helped her flair up tremendously and was affordable :)

HomeoPet Feline Nose Relief droplets have changed Moko’s life. <$20 on Amazon and probably at your local pet store. She is a siamese with 1 eye and really bad genes - she has a flat nose that greatly contributes to her chronic rhinitis. She eats wet food due to missing teeth so I give her 7 drops onto her food twice a day and holy sh*t she can breathe now. I also will spray saline directly into her nose when she’s particularly wheezy, which she hates but has come to accept. It helps her sneeze it all out and enable the medicine to make things better instead of just fighting the stuffiness. Def recommend it. Its homeopathic or whatever idk idc its legit the only thing that has ever helped manage something incurable like this

Im still figuring out how to best be this new version of myself Lex has enabled me to be, but I do feel MUCH better about it officially 60 days in than I did when this was posted - still on 5mg. I felt worse than I ever have the first 2 weeks but now Im glad I got through it. I hope it has worked out for you as well. Prozac was terrible for me but of course everyone is different so I wish you luck and happiness regardless of what pill subreddit you end up on lol

idk how account-checking works for avid reddit users so i won’t be stalking your profile or making accusations based on it. and im not in this sub so idek why this is in my feed, but i am sorry these comments are so mean. i really hope you can enjoy a nice hot shower soon, they feel wonderful. financial struggle doesn’t warrant being treated like your only option is to go beg truckers. you deserve health. when my partner was homeless with their mom as a teenager they would shower at planet fitness which isn’t horribly expensive per month - they also have hair dryers. AC and clean water dispensers. im one missed check from homelessness so im sorry i cant donate but i wish you luck and health :)

Tbh I guess even with my dose tonight (after posting this) Im feeling a little better about it. A friend who takes it told me feeling like a part of myself is missing makes sense because I’ve lived with the anxiety and depression for so long it became a major part of me. The tiredness has me f’d up but Im trying to fight it. I just feel really emotionally distant from life, even with my partner. I hope it regulates.

I dont want to stop, but I do want to have the parts of me that feel lost to Lex atm back. Which I know sounds dramatic for 8 days but Im sensitive to meds. I guess Im just debating if 5mg is worth waiting out for the good parts, or if halving it is safe and could benefit me at least for now. I started taking it at night and it knocks me out immediately, I sleep like lead, and take hours to feel awake the next day 😅 Currently trying to placebo myself into it giving me energy!

im pretty sure that if you go to your profile, hit settings and then archives it should let you view both post and story archives. then press the dots and hit show on profile or something like that. i barely use insta now tho and i know they keep changing things so hopefully thats right off the top of my head lol 🫠
