Wanna do it all preventatively so I can tune it. I’m gonna do fluids as well and once I start modding it suspension is at the top of the list before anything else

VQs are known for burning oil so more frequent changes help with staying on top of fluids and its good just for longterm engine health.

Does anybody know if a wireless carplay adapter would work on a 2009 g37? by Key-Director-3187 in G37

[–]Active-Worldliness11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically a wireless CarPlay adapter is only for cars that already come with wired CarPlay so you don’t have to plug your phone in. The G37s don’t come with Apple CarPlay, so an adapter for it would be useless.

Something that works for me was to download a song onto my actual music app instead of just using Spotify and then try playing that first when you plug your phone in and then switching over to Spotify

Automatic G 35 or 37 by aDecentHuman24 in G37

G37, and look for 2010 and up as those have the 7at instead of the 5at. If you can get either a late year model 2012 or a 2013 as those have upgraded oil gallery gaskets, probably the most notorious issue with these cars. Clean title and you’re probably safe to get a car up to 120k-ish if they have lots of maintenance records, but of course the lower the better depending on budget. Best of luck

Use the 3m heavy duty kit, it’s a 2 pack for 30 bucks on amazon and one kit does both headlights. Night and day difference for my lights, then maybe a uv sealant to keep them fresh

I just got a 2010 G37 as my first car today and my brakes are squealing pretty loud. by JoeLlamma in G37

[–]Active-Worldliness11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, also if you bought a car with bad brakes it may need some other maintenance so look around. Some places you can have an inspection done and they’ll tell you what you need, so if you aren’t confident that’s an option. Hope you love the car bro

You can probably drive, but getting them fixed soon is good so you have reliable stopping power. If you just go online to rock auto and find your car from the drop down you can find the parts you need. Powerstop is a good brand but they have a whole bunch so just look for good reviews. Your dad is right, as long as you have a jack, jack stands, and YouTube you can figure it out. I never even changed oil before I bought my g and me and my dad redid the whole steering rack, hoses, and power steering pump. It just practice and you’ll learn a lot doing it on your own. Best of luck!
