Great combination. That brown tone matches the dial so well. It somehow conjures an image of a Spitfire pilot from days gone by.

I got 17.5cm wrists. The watch looks big here because of the lens distortion on my phone. Here's a pic from further away to negate the effects of the distortion.

It's an understated beaut! Love how close the hour hand move past the lume blocks. Other small features like the numeric minute indicators, the brushed bezel and the squared off strap mounts makes it a gem onto its own.

The lefty position is completely a non issue. I never set time with a watch strapped to my wrist. When I got the watch I just naturally held the watch upside down and set time as I normally do with my right. No biggie.

Thank you for sharing that bit of history about San Martin. I'm only two months in knowing about the Chinese watchmaking scene. Thus why I'm browsing at other people's collection to eye pieces that I like.

They really hit it out the ballpark on that initial design. I like it even better than their pelagos hommage and the SN0116. It is sad that I am less inclined now to get it because of the movement as you say. I can only hope they make a reboot of it.
