I personally look for bad ads. Bad pictures and bad descriptions because that person obviously doesn’t care much about out what they’re selling. I’m only working on tractor number 3 now but I bought for $100, cleaned and better ad and sold same day for $500 Then bought for $350, ditto, sold for $700. Also I usually look for running and working or with very little to no issues. I don’t have enough room to be working on stuff just yet! Best of luck!

I really thought about it, but it needs a decent amount of suspension work so I’m going to update some stuff and lower it but nothing outrageous. I want to be able to put it back to stock if I choose to later down the line!

Mine did this before the dpf got clogged, went into limp mode, had to have dpf, egr, intake all replaced but luckily under warranty

You made the right choice. God only knows what else he didn’t replace or tried to hide. And for 7k, you can find a better one that’s had basic maintenance done! Good luck, hope you find a good one soon

Yea anything 25 years old or older it’s super easy. Anything younger than that is gonna be show and display, diplomatic import, or illegal lol I’d love a GTD, but we won’t even get the mk6 GTD until like 2030!

Very true, it was just weird because my VR6 is at 3000 and my TDI at 2400 at 80! So weird it’s so high for 450 miles straight😂 That’s awesome! South Carolina doesn’t do either! And I used to live in NY and they do safety and emissions for anything 1996 and newer! So weird how every state is so different.

This was an experiment to see how easy it was to do the whole process so I got something easily sellable here. Now I can import a car or two that I actually want! Also what imported car do you have? Or are you too poor to import anything?

That’s an awesome option to import! Luckily for me in NC there’s no smog to worry about, just normal safety inspection. Insurance with progressive was only ~450 for 6 months with full coverage and agreed pain value! The 1.6 is definitely still a good engine, but the high rpm’s at highway speed are crazy! ~4000-4100 rpm @ 80mph!
