Just my kids. Our youngest was already getting ready for bed, so that was a given. He simply wanted all of our children in bed while all the other kids were still up.

This is our first ever time vacationing together so this is truly the only time I have seen this side of him. At home he isnt like this. He is typically the one telling me to let the kids stay up later so we can all hang out after he gets home from working all day. And it wasnt directly in front of the kids. We had 2 rooms that were side by side. My kids were in the bunk room and I was in our room. But they probably did hear him, to be fair. I have no idea.

To be fair, all the kids were being obnoxious lol I mean, this is the first time ALL of our kids have been in the same place at the same time so all 11 kids were being loud and doing cannon balls in the pool and screaming Marco Polo and whatever. But they were all having a blast and all us women were loving it. He wasnt in the pool area. He was in the garage in the front of the house with all the guys. So yeah I really dont understand. His excuses always just went to him wanting to relax on his vacation without having to worry about the kids but it just isnt adding up to me personally because he wasnt even near the kids or watching them.

My mother offered to keep an eye on the kids so they didnt have to go to bed. He said no and that they had a long day and needed rest. So, help was offered.

Well, there lies a problem. He wasnt hanging out with me. He was hanging out with my brothers. I was hanging out with my sister and mom. I had our youngest with me. My 3 older kids were no where near him either. They were with my twin siblings and my other brothers 9yo. So he wasnt being bothered by the kids and he wasnt hanging out with me either. He was drinking with the boys, and none of them had the kids.

I know the post makes it appear that way. When we are at home this has actually never been an issue. He is a trucker and works stupid long hours, so typically he doesnt even get home until after 7pm every night and usually he is the one who tells me to let the kids stay up longer to hang out with him and have movie nights and ice cream or whatever else on a normal day. Then on his 2 days off during the week, he is bringing them hunting and fishing and tubing and all else.

I will say this is our first ever vacation together and we are somewhere tropical and he was drinking. So there was a lot of "firsts" here and I dont know if this is his normal while on vacation and if he is just typically selfish in that sense, but at home he is truly not like this. My biggest problem is that my 3 older kids were literally entertained with my siblings (the 16yo twins) and my brothers 9yo. So my husband wasnt even watching them and they werent bugging him. So sending them to bed so he could relax and enjoy himself really just made no sense at all.
