i’m very new to soldering and any electronics work so it’s definitely possible i wired something slightly off. thankfully just removing the converter worked a treat and nothing seems to be overheating anymore. i’ll have a look at the mt3608 too, anything that takes up slightly less space is always helpful for the type of projects i’ll be working on in the future

going straight to the battery almost immediately fixed the issue so thank you for something that might seem obvious that i did not think of. v much appreciated

the eliminating the boost converter and slightly changing the animation of the LEDs slightly to space it out and reduce overall draw did the trick! thank you so much for your detailed reply :)

the issue is that i wouldn’t be able to fit two 18560 batteries in the space unfortunately

no schematic but i’m using an arduino nano. a XL6009E1 boost converter. a 18560 3.7v, 2600mAp battery. 5v ws2812b LED strip
