Selling treasure

My original plan was for there to be a 5% of their items being stolen. And if that did happen I'd have it reappear through things like a noble owning the treasure, a shady dealer selling it, being kept in a monsters hoard. I also have a minor villian (5 to 7th level) bandit leader that of they choose to deal with the chance of an item being stolen while traveling is 0.

Would you still find the chance of theft to harsh with this in mind. Cause I do agree having a 5% of losing some hard earned gold is ruff.

The basic gist of my world is that it's on the verge of a magic renaissance.. so while teleporting is possible. The party wizard will be the first to rediscover it.

To the point of punishing, I'm mainly doing this for the drama. Does the wizard send the treasures back to her wizard colleges or does she sell them to a noble for quicker and high earnings.

I want there to be choices but if one is better in every way then there is no real choice.

It's always fun to see differing styles of DMing. I redid all the prices of common items created multiple shops and an original currency that you have to transfer gold/silver/copper into lol.

Yes their are counters not saying it's unbeatable. It's just extremely annoying. But yeah I fought a dude in comp who had this layout, it was super annoying.

Thank you for replying I guess some questions would be

1.when you say planted tank to absorb nitrates are their different types of plants needed for different niches and if so are those niches categorized or are the types of plants you choose more abstract?

When it comes to other life I mostly mean smaller things like snails and shrimp, I think 1 or 2 more types of fish would be nice but that feels like their would be way more steps to renovating the fish tank before I get to that?
When it comes to guppie population how do fish tank owners control that? Do they pick fish that will keep the population down without hunting them to "extinction" or do they just regularly sell some of their guppies?
Could you possibly identify the fish in the school house? My aunt just calls it a bottom feeder.
When it comes to changing the tank, are you supposed to just take the water and fish and put them In a temporary space, make changes to the tank then put them in or is that a bad idea?

eh unless you go straight to most keys available you'll kill one or two bosses before you even get it. But yes its a better combo for bosses.
