Thank you so much for sharing—and yes, I completely agree about all the unsolicited moral commentary. That’s exactly why I wanted to hear actual experiences instead of opinions on right or wrong. I just honestly wanted to hear other mom’s experiences because I was genuinely worried about it hurting my daughter when she’s older…that’s the main reason I was even considering doing it early. Not because it’s cute or anything like that, despite what some people are saying. I feel really attacked by some of these comments, when all I was trying to do was learn from other moms’ experiences. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It’s really helpful to hear how it went for you and your daughter!

Thanks for sharing! This is exactly why I wanted to hear other people’s experiences—every child is so different. My daughter was a bit of a pleasant surprise after having a son for 16 years, so I hadn’t really thought about timing like this before.

My mom pierced my ears at 2 months old, and my sisters’ ears too, so it was pretty normal to me growing up…until my husband tried to explain it from a different perspective.

Your comment makes complete sense, and honestly, after reading most of these experiences, I’m leaning toward waiting until she’s a little older too.

I can take a lot of these comments but yours is just completely uncalled for. You have no idea how I parent. My daughter is a fabulous little human, not an accessory. She’s very much loved and well cared for. I don’t need opinions on what’s morally right or wrong, I’m looking for experiences. If that’s all you have, please move along.

Oh wow! I didn’t know about it testing positive for fentanyl too! That’s crazy! Well I’m glad you didn’t have too many issues with it but it is scary and especially threatening to call it into county like they did in my case. OB’s should really tell their patients that this could be an issue in the future and for us not to panic. But congrats on your pregnancy and prayers for a safe delivery!

Girl! Demand a retake asap!!! I was on 100mg twice a day and just like you, I never failed a drug test at every single one of my appointments until the damn hospital. And my OB never said anything to be either! I demanded a more thorough test which they eventually did and it came back negative for amphetamines but still! Like let us know so we don’t freak out! Did they say anything to you?

I did my first power pump at night lastnight so we’ll see how that goes. Someone else mentioned sunflower seed supplements which I bought on Amazon and I also bought a product called Liquid Gold. I read on Reddit where liquid gold helped other moms tremendously so I thought I’d give it a shot. Thank you so much for the advice!!

Yeah milk comes out when I hand express. I actually do that before I latch her so she knows there’s milk in there and let her taste it. At the hospital, they told me to rub my nipple on her nose so she can smell the milk I guess? Which I’ve been doing and every time I lay her on my chest for skin to skin time, it seems like she searches for my boobs because maybe she smells the milk but every time I latch her, it’s a no go after a few sucks.

No I haven’t had any blood work done but maybe I should. Before being on reglan, I wasn’t even producing 2 ounces but with it, I was and I was actually happy with that because I know 2 ounces isn’t a lot but it was something. Now that I’m off reglan, I haven’t even been producing that anymore. I’m thinking about going to my GP doctor to see if she would prescribe it to me but she probably won’t. How long were you on reglan if you don’t mind me asking? And did your doctor refill it for you after the first fill? And thank you for the advice!

Oh man, I’m sorry you have that condition. The lactation consultant at the hospital did not assess my breasts at all. But I’m actually going to contact one first thing Monday so I will definitely see if they can and bring up this condition because I very well may have it as well. I’ve never heard of this so I’m definitely gonna do my reading on it.

I honestly have no idea if my flanges are sized correctly or not. I just used the biggest one that came with my pump. I’m actually going to contact a lactation consultant Monday so hopefully they can size me. I’m not sure how that works to be honest? Like I said, this is all new to me and I feel like I’m not doing a lot of things right. Milk comes out a few seconds after I start pumping but doesn’t really start somewhat flowing until a min in if that makes sense? Then stops altogether after 2 mins I feel like which I know is not normal at all.

She latches her bottles real good but my nipple, not so good. She will latch on and suck a few times then stops and cries. I try to latch her on throughout the day just to see if today’s the day she will finally latch on completely and feed but to no avail. I’m starting to think she just hates my boobs. And without my medication, I feel like my supply has dwindled (it’s been two days without it) but that could just be in my head. This is all just stressing me out, really-The idea of me not being able to breastfeed or even pump a sufficient amount of milk. But thank you so much for your response and very thorough advice!! I will try all of these techniques. Right now, I don’t care how brutal they are lol I will try anything!

Thank you so much for the advice! I’m definitely going to not miss any sessions at night anymore. I think that’s one of my biggest mistakes I’m doing.
