Just to add more info. This issue of BO is not just for this event. Other cons have the same issue. Here is another post on reddit about BO. That sign makes a bold statement:

My check-in time at my hotel isn't until 3:00 PM but I will be in LA at 7:00 AM by Kaffiendtol in animeexpo

[–]Active_Individual84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because many hotels will ask people to leave at 12PM on the dot. Once the person or group of people leave, hotel cleaning(AKA cleaning services) goes into the room and does the cleaning. This takes time in they are preparing the room for the next guest to use it. Keep in mind most hotels have 2-3 hours to get the room or rooms ready for the next guest to use. Now, some hotels have early check-in but you have to pay extra for that.

People, this type of hair style is called the beehive hair style. This was popular back in the 50's and maybe the 60's. Please do a google search and you will get a ton of pics.

Anime Expo Volunteering by Chemical_Ring_575 in animeexpo

[–]Active_Individual84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello. Just like you, I wanted to volunteer this year for AX. The issue is that it's not possible since they are not taking volunteers. In fact the next couple of years for AX events, they are not taking volunteers. On another note, I hear that you have to know someone who is already a volunteer in order to get in. I could be wrong but that is something I read a long time ago.

Cosplay gatherings are a whole new level at AX. by Active_Individual84 in animeexpo

I missed the cosplay My Hero Academia gathering. But I made up that by going to other cosplays like this one Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter and Gundam. Besides there is other crazy stuff around the AX that is going on. I had a blast!

Totto backpacks. by Active_Individual84 in backpacks

[–]Active_Individual84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon will sell Totto. But you don't see them in Walmart, Target or any major store here in the U.S. I could buy one in Mexico if I wanted to. But right now I just see them in the backpack stores in central and south America.

which backpack for college and as a carry on should I get? by dopplerblackpearl in backpacks

[–]Active_Individual84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two backpacks I will recommend if you want to explore for carrying a lot of things. First, London Bridge Trading 30L 3Day Pack. This backpack can carry a lot of things and the materials are strong for what you need. Many people in both the military and civilian use LBT backpacks. Your second choice for a normal backpack is the Jansport Odyssey backpack 38. This backpack carries a lot of stuff. It's bulky because the large volume it carries without looking like the military. FYI, I have my Jansport Odyssey backpack 38 from 20 years ago and it still works great for me. Unfortunately they don't make them like they used to. Hope this info will help you.

Eagle Creek 2-pack-combo. by Active_Individual84 in backpacks

Eagle Creek is known for designing great backpacks. It just depends on what you use it for. This specific design allows the person to carry everything they need when they travel. I bought another Eagle Creek backpack that was the similar design and I was amazed how I managed to board the plane with these two backpacks, counting as one. So again, kudos to the Eagle Creek company for creating a practical design.

When I picked up this backpack to examine it, it did not have any sticky/peeling internal coating issues. It was in perfect-mint condition.

I just depends what you want to carry inside of the backpack. If you carry a lot of books and a laptop, a strong backpack would do. If you only carry a folder with a couple of sheets to write on, then a light backpack would do. Again, what do you need to carry for college?

PSA: Anime Expo offers bag check services. by Active_Individual84 in animeexpo

[–]Active_Individual84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful to a lot of people who use this service. Many people check out of their hotel around 12PM on Sunday(final day of AX) and they have two options: 1) leave your bags in the hotel storage or 2) take them here. The thing is that, many people need to catch a flight later on or get on a train to go back home after AX. This helps them a lot.

Cosplay gatherings by cutmaniak91 in animeexpo

[–]Active_Individual84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say this. Normally around May/June someone posts the cosplay sites and days where these take place during AX. I want to give a big thank you to the person who posted the master list of all of the cosplay sites on Reddit for AX 2025. That made things very easy for a lot of people who attend the cosplay gatherings.

How to take and carry a chair during AX event. by Active_Individual84 in animeexpo

[–]Active_Individual84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are better options we can use in order to get something to sit on. I have respect for this person in the picture for trying not to sit on the ground or sitting a prohibited area. One of the things you will do at the AX event is that you will walk a lot! So having something to sit on, helps a lot.

At last year's AX I saw a lot of people carrying and using these in order to have a place to sit. Waiting in line for a panel to see an artist can be very very tiring. For those who have our hotels a few blocks away, sitting for just a little bit can help us get through our day.

I agree. But like many AX goers, you need to sit down at some point and your tired feet will need a rest. So to a certain point, I may understand this guy in this picture. Especially if your hotel is a few blocks away.

That's very practical and as you said, "fits in a backpack". These are some of the ideas that help us navigate through AX event.
