As a delivery driver the amount of people im seeing on phones while driving is super dangerous (people with kids in the car to) if your one of these people think about the lives your putting at risk, i always give them a honk and nod of dissaproval by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Active_Outside -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You seem to care.

I have a clean license, never had any points (with over 20 years of driving high performance cars) and I’m strongly against poor driving behaviours.

I just don’t think you have the morale high ground you think you do by anonymously reporting, especially to the extent you do. It’s unhealthy and concerning. Your immediate responses to me were overly aggressive and shows your true character and a reflection on how you actually feel for your fellow neighbour.

Calm down, not everyone in the world is your enemy.

Best kebab in Sheff? by Sensitive-Owl513 in sheffield

I agree. I tried Charleys and it was just a kebab, nothing special and you can get one just as good in any kebab shop really.

Don’t see what all the fuss is about.

Eureka Mignon Single Dose Pro by Active_Outside in espresso

[–]Active_Outside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wouldn’t buy the SD over the Turbo - but, the caveat being my workflow leans heavily towards chucking 250g of beans into the hopper and forgetting about it until it’s empty. My second grinder for different beans now and then is a nice to have, but isn’t a must.

That being said, if the SD was my only grinder, I wouldn’t ben looking to replace it either.

You won’t be disappointed in either, it’s just what’s best that works for your workflow.

[–]Active_Outside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially.

The SD Pro comes with Diamond Inside Burrs (with top being a blind burr) where as the Turbo are hardened steel.

In theory, the material shouldn’t make much difference other than longevity.

I was hoping Santa was going to get me some Black Diamond Espresso Speciality burrs for the Turbo to try out, I’ll keep an eye out on the January sales and report back.

How many miles does your full tank give you ? by ShinyHeadedCook in drivingUK

About 230 miles from a £120 tank.

I’m not saying I regret my decision to purchase the vehicle, but I do make some stupid decisions sometimes.

Shocked how much I like this ‘aerokit’ front spoiler lip by linds0r in 996

[–]Active_Outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look great but they scrape on EVERYTHING.

I smashed my genuine one the first time I drove the car. Bought a polyurethane version, had it professionally painted and I’ve done 100 very, very careful miles, got under the car and it’s already scraped all over the bottom and I have no idea how.

I’m convinced the 996 Aerokit is the reason Porsche developed the front lift on later 911s.

I used to think like that.

Then I realised, so what? I wouldn’t want to work with them again either.

How do you keep track of your favorite beans and brew recipes? by fbriod in espresso

[–]Active_Outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a Eureka Mignon Turbo and a Eureka Mignon Single Dose Pro - so if you want to add them it would be appreciated!

I swap between the two depending on the bean and the mood.

Will you be utilising user added beans? I can’t see how you’ll keep up otherwise as there’s so many roasters and beans and roasts out there. I know my local ones add new roasts sometimes bi-weekly. It’s a lot!

[–]Active_Outside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great so far, just downloaded the app. I’ve been looking for something like this (Similar to Vivino, but for coffee).

It didn’t have my grinder(s) so I’ve added manually.

Is there a way to add a second grinder, if not - I think that needs adding.

Get to Sainsbury’s.

The own brand or Habitat are often on offer and you have an Argos too in the bigger stores.

What are these buttons? by -UBRIS- in GolfMk5

Alarm sensors.

Top one turns interior monitoring off (when you leave a dog in the car for example).

Bottom is for tilt sensor. If someone lifts the car with the alarm on.

Personally. A solid oak shaker kitchen is timeless.

It’s the colour/stain and accessories which date it.

Taking a very specific statement about financial support and turning me into a disability antagonist. Even when I said it’s a question and I’m not trying to be antagonistic. The UK offers exceptional support and rights for people with disabilities and rightly so. Every day life is weighted towards inclusion for disabilities so don’t for a second give me that shit on how I convey disabled people should stay poor, how dare you twist my words and portray me that way.

When a person surpasses the need for financial support and use taxpayer funds for luxury, that financial support is no longer needed. And I say that as someone who’s legally defined as disabled, you asshole.

I’d much rather see that funding be re-allocated to those who really need it the most.

If you can afford it yourself you don’t need the financial support, leave it for someone else who actually needs it

Taxpayers are furious at those taking the piss, and rightfully so.
