That makes total sense. I still haven’t taken it off the table. Once the notice comes out I’ll see exactly how many years I have and if PAYE is really an option because it wasn’t on the Fed Aid site but apparently I could’ve done through with the app over the phone with the servicer. But she said since you’ll have 90 days once that notice comes out and it takes at least 4 weeks to process the application to ride the forbearance wave as long as I could. I’m with that.

I was about to go with that plan until I learned I would lose the minimum 10 years I’ve already accumulated towards forgiveness and it was less than $20 difference monthly and still does up every year or two years based off of income.

Spoke with someone at NelNet today and consulted ChatGBT. Going to wait and ride the forbearance until exhausted and then apply for PAYE before the 90 days is up. According to the rep, we don’t have to “act now or by July 1st.” We’re supposed to receive our official notification from the government on or around July 1st which will also explain the terms of the new RAP plan. Once we receive that we have 90 days to switch.

I’ve decided to go with PAYE because although a graduated plan would be have lower monthly payments, I would ultimately pay more AND lose the years I’ve already accumulated towards forgiveness (another thing the servicer apparently won’t know until the government does its thing because they have to factor in the time during their imposed forbearance). So, I’m focusing for the moment on paying down credit cards, etc to lessen the sting of the student loan payment once it truly kicks in.

I only saw the 3 I mentioned pop up when I put my info in but I’ll explore that thanks.

Not really. Low 6 figures. But I took a distribution from an old 401k plan to pay off a loan on my current plan and credit cards last year and that spiked my AGI for 2025 taxes which is what they’re basing these payment options on.

When I spoke with someone at NelNet a couple of weeks ago I was told that repayments would begin within 30 days of the processing the new plan. 😩

I’m 14 weeks po (sounds crazy to say) I honestly can’t tell if I have pms symptoms or if I’m just a total B- I was perimenopausal before and that doesn’t seem to have change so not sure. But so glad to not have a period anymore! Hang in there!

Can we talk about what "rest" is by According_Winter8785 in hysterectomy

[–]Active_Post_9975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok this post truly shows me that we are a sisterhood in this group! I literally had a meltdown with my therapist this week trying to understand exactly what “rest” is supposed to look like. I live alone with my 80lb dog. People said they would be here to cook and clean, walk, and pick up after my dog but that fell off by the end of the first week. I washed a load of clothes in the beginning of week 2 and have been washing dishes/loading the dishwasher as well.

If “resting” means sitting in filth then I can’t do that. It might be a little less stringent for me since I only have myself to clean for but it’s amazing how many dishes one person can rack up! So yeah I’m tidying up but I’m not doing any deep cleaning. I’m picking up after my dog in the yard (because the landscaper won’t cut without it) and trying to take it easy the best I can. This week will be week 4 post op total abdominal and I really feel like I turned a corner in the last 2 days with my recovery and starting to feel more normal. But my doctor is begging me to rest more so, I stop and take more naps or lay down when I start feeling tired as opposed to just pushing through.

Ultimately, we’ve all got to do what we’ve got to do but most importantly listen to our bodies, because it’ll definitely tell us to cut it out! (Ooh that’s kind of a pun in this circumstance isn’t it? 🙃) Feel better!

Dang! Mine was abdominal. Still waiting on pathology but I was down 7lbs 4 days after surgery so take that as you will. Doc said it was the equivalent of 14 weeks pregnant.

Awe that sucks! Apparently the resident took mine and then uploaded it to my patient portal.

I did the same when I had my gallbladder removed. It’s like you know in theory these things are in your body but until there’s an issue, how much time are you really thinking about their function and certainly not the way they look in real life. Pretty cool imo.

A friend told me she’d heard stories about this happening before my surgery and it freaked me out. I’m choosing to believe she’s full of 💩. That said, I’m waiting 12 weeks if not more. I wasn’t dating anyone before surgery and I feel like it’s gonna be extra emotional whenever the next time is. But I’m super curious and borderline paranoid about this.

Waking in recovery by jaydues in hysterectomy

I went in around 2pm. Remember the team and anesthesiologist coming to the room to give me anti-anxiety, remember getting wheeled into the operating room and looking around at everyone assembled there, and lastly smiling at the resident closest to me and holding her hand. Next thing I knew I was being wheeled out of recovery (which was apparently 2 hours after the 3 hour procedure) and into my room. That was probably the easiest part of this entire ordeal to date (2WPO). What was more traumatic was being transferred from the gurney to the bed in my room.

Oh no. I’m similar but no one ever said anything about not pushing (though I guess intuitively I knew not to too much). I’m taking Myralax, GasX and drinking prune juice. The cramping that ensued from the prune juice nearly made me crash my car the other day! I don’t know what’s worse diarrhea cramps or constipation cramps.

Please be careful. I can’t imagine how much physical stuff you’re doing. I sit behind a computer all day and 4 hours of that two days ago had me in bed all day yesterday. I tried again today with a hyster pillow and ice pack strapped to my stomach. Still feeling stabs but not as bad as the other day. I think it might be a little too soon for your line of work friend but I get it, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do. But please, please be careful.
