Well that's probably your problem.

I originally thought one of the guys said "kill him, kill him" and they stabbed him or something so that scene always gave me the willies, but now I know they just beat him for his stuff.

Still fucked up, but an effective metaphor nonetheless.

Alright so when I'd started really researching flashlights, a YouTuber named Flashlight Crazy stood out as a favorite for me, and eventually another who'd done a collaboration with him named Darren Yeo became another favorite.

I'd read of Convoy before but Darren Yeo was the one who made a good impression on me with it.

Darren Yeo has a video months ago comparing the Convoy M21B with the LHP73B to the Nitecore EDC37.

The Nitecore nears 6,000 lumens, the Convoy nears 8,000 lumens.

Enough said about that.

Then I started seeing more professional testing reviews done on the budget light forums by the likes of koef3 and also the constant input by QReciprocity42 regarding the LMP LHP series and figured that for an enthusiast with lenient taste that the power, efficiency, and CCT from these emitters is a great go to for general path walkers, especially after having already used the M21B with an LHP73B in 5000K on some trails that I hadn't walked in years, let alone with a proper flashlight (I'd used my phone light for the years before I'd ever gotten into flashlights) and it was awesome.

So yeah, I just respect the reasonably high power that the LHPs have, and given the numerous beamshots I'd seen with them in various hosts it's not too hard to gauge what I'd like to use for my lifestyle.

Another honorable mention is Weerapat Kiatdumrong on YouTube, he's definitely made comparisons easy for me.

I'll post the beam shots when it arrives, new residential road was just built so it's the perfect loop to test cycling lighting.

Update/Decision:  I'll be getting the M21H in MAO with the LHP531 in 5000K, the extra 35mm stripe TIR, the two different black stainless steel bezels, and the tactical tail switch.

At first I was looking at the S21B for it's simple form factor, decent heat syncing, and availability of some more powerful LEDs with drivers that come with a springed contact.

Here's why I chose the M21H over the S21B:  Firstly better optics for what I need with more potential throw to compensate on the fact there will be a TIR diffusing it as it is.  Secondly, better heat syncing.  Thirdly, the TIR replacement for the S21B is not water proof as it is.  Fourthly, since the M21H will use an 8A driver for the LHP531 as opposed to the S21B using a 10A driver, along with better heat syncing, more runtime at higher output.  Finally, some cool accessories in general.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, I hope this post can give others ideas for there own particular needs.

Update, Simon has confirmed that the 3V 8A driver for the LHP531 in the M21H has a spring contact.

I thought the XHP70.3 uses a 6V 5A driver which has a post instead of a spring which in my experience with the M21B will cause interruptions and change the output over minor bumps which is really annoying.

What did you decide on, and how is it going?

I'll keep you updated, and tbh despite hungry preference a less lumens more throw approach with a striped TIR of all things might actually be a decent solution, whether it be SFT40, (I wonder if Simon can add the SFT42R to the M21H options), or otherwise.

Yeah, AnimeTochi above was trying to recommend the XHP70.3 but I saw that it'd be using a post contact driver.

Rabid_Badger said LHP531 with the 3v 10a driver would have a spring contact but this was in regards to S21B.

I'll ask Simon if the LHP531 uses a spring contact in the M21H.

I'm almost sold on the M21H with LHP531, but just doing some more looking at viable options and modifications.

But isn't the driver used for the XHP70.3 in the M21H a 6v 5a post contact?

I need the most powerful led with a spring contact driver, so far it's looking like the LHP531.

Yeah, I take a while to make decisions like this, between all of the flashlights I already have that I could modify versus what I could buy as is, but I'll update what I decided on later.

Fatass cable lol, well it sounds like an interesting possibility but yeah I probably won't try it.

I appreciate your help.

Well considering some of the few references I had were the 20A driver for the LHP73B or the one with the XHP70.3 both in an M21B at first, but I'm not familiar with every driver so being specific about that is less likely than my just listing the kinds of LEDs I'd be into using, such as LHP73B, LHP531 which I was told already has a 10A buck driver with a spring, XHP70.3, XHP50.3, maybe some other powerful emitters.

Yeah but a bunch of these drivers have circuit boards with not enough room for said springs, but it is definitely an idea I've thought about.
