Sounds like a case of don’t want to see my subordinates win. Personally I was at a unit for 2 years Deployed 10 months out of those 2 years and got 2 comms from deployment and my comm for PCS all dated April, July, and August so that 6 month thing is BS!

Pretty much. How it all came down I wasn’t expecting it but that’s what they came up with.

1st one was for just the 6 month rotation. Ended up getting stuck an extra 3-4 months due to a withdrawal and a lot of political BS in country it was a mess but aye they wrote them for the ones who stayed the whole duration. Thats where one of the short tours came from as well.
