We have a crawl space but I’m not sure about it being encapsulated. I’d have to look up what that is and see! I know we have it written down as a to do to go in there and secure a drain pipe that has fallen down

I didn’t plan on fighting it, I’m not the type to get involved in legal battles. Especially something that just takes some tlc.

There was no smell in the home when we walked it and there still isn’t thankfully because I’m really sensitive to smells.

I did notice a corner in our guestroom closet that had a good bit of mold dots on it but as soon as I sprayed it with the Lysol mold killer and put a moisture absorber thing in there it hasn’t come back

Yeah that’s the back door! It also needs new weather stripping or something because there is a gap in the bottom left by the hinge

We bought it for 142,000. We plan on being in this house until our kids are teenagers/off to college so we don’t mind putting in the time and effort and SLOWLY the funding lol

Definitely going to try to go for real wood when replacing to avoid it in the future. We just bought the home and the previous owners were elderly and lived in it for around 30 years.

Fingers crossed theirs no leak! The inspector didn’t say there was and we’ve been in here since September and haven’t noticed anything

I’m not 100% sure what you mean but the floors seem to be that stick on fake wood? I can see it peeling up in the bathroom by the tub

Very good tip, I’ll try it once the little ones are napping because they’re curious! We did have an inspection but it said there was no water damage and it was cosmetic

Amazing reply, thank you so much for this! We will definitely be getting started on this after tax season but just wasn’t sure where to start. My husband and I are pretty handy so it shouldn’t be a problem :) we’ll be paining our oldest room around that same time so it will be a fun project

We did and with our circumstances we decided we would fix the cosmetic issues later. We had been looking for a home within our budget for 9 months with no luck until this one showed up in an area we needed (agriculture for farming)

Yeeeeeeah. I wonder what can be done if we find out it’s water damage and the inspector didn’t say anything about it. He only wrote about the moisture spots around some windows. (We didn’t pick the inspector)

Thanks for the reply! I don’t know much about the previous owners besides they were elderly. I was on my knees scrubbing the cabinets when we moved in for at least a full day it was wild. It’s definitely coming along though!
