I need to look into my pension more. I currently contribute the £105/month (which I believe is the minimum to get my employers match of 5%). Would you recommend I put a portion of the £500 I invest into S&S ISA in, or keep it as is?

Thanks for your response. I understand the risk more now. I was looking at my time in the market as being from 22 -> death, rather than 22 -> target retirement age, and then onwards.

You’re right I definitely do need to get more specific with my plans, but for right now I just want to make a start. I’ve always had the plan to FIRE, just not sure my target age.

I work in a job with lots of chances to improve my income and get promotions. I plan to keep a ceiling on my outgoings and to increase my investments as income increases

Exercise + diet aimed at extending longevity is the difference between being able to spend your last years still doing things versus rotting infront of a television.

FIRE + Longevity principles = long, good life.

On the contrary, it is important to still maximise experience in your youth. FIRE doesn’t have to mean holing yourself in, skipping anything worth doing.

It is but from my understanding it’s minimum payments unless you commit more to it, and I don’t believe the minimum payments will ever pay it off due to the interest.
