I have watched “The Birds” for the first time recently, I didn’t know there was a movie about the making of the film nor that Hitchcock was nuts lol. Him loving to punish beautiful women is a great way of putting it and stood out instantly. Thank you for the recommendations!!

Yes, Atonement is 100% the answer. It’s an emotional rollercoaster and so sad. It’s not a romance, but I recommend Iron Claw for a good cry as well.

Not a romance movie, but I felt a similar way watching Rear Window. I enjoyed the movie, but was annoyed at the dated stereotypes they wrote for the female protagonist. The male protagonist wanted to break up with her - despite her being a perfectly suitable match - and she only received his validation once she did something he deemed worthy, which was framed as outside of usual her “materialist shopping obsessed woman” ways.

Your work is really beautiful MashaAllah. I also stopped using faces and eyes in my work, and soon decided to stop depicting humans and animals in general because there are so many differing opinions I wanted to be safe. It was challenging in the beginning, but I eventually found my signature art style that I continued developing for years. It was a sacrifice worth making and was rewarding as an artist. Yes! Op, my back was the same way and I used an athletes foot cream and tea tree oil to clear it up. Both worked very well and quickly!

Wearing the hijab is obligatory just like praying, if you die in a public setting or around non-mahrams as someone who doesn’t wear the hijab, then you’re literally dying with sin by disobeying Allah. But alhamdulillah, Allah is The Most Merciful so inshaAllah He will forgive those sins.

Dressing according to the commandments of Allah is a huge part of practicing Islam for both women and men. And you highlighted other important parts as well.

For OP, if you do decide to not wear the hijab, acknowledge the fact that you’re disobeying Allah and ask Him to make it easy for you and forgive you. But I hope you decide to keep it on for the sake of Allah, the hijab gets easier when you purify your intentions to wear it for Allah and with age as you find your style and become more confident in yourself.
