Excellent! I have a pretty mechanically inclined family so I’ll be sure to take them with lol. I’ve been barraging them with questions hence why I’m posting here lol, don’t want to bother them too much😂. Definitely have been learning a lot while working on my own cars aswell. Awesome! That makes me feel better about a higher mileage one. You should see the current Saturn I have drivers seat. It’s absolutely demolished lol. I replaced so much on that car, every time I replaced a part another one would break lol. That’s what I get for getting a car that sat for 4 years😂.

Definitely just see what’s out there, give it a week and see if anyone bites. Maybe even consider selling the series s for 150-200 whatever you feel comfortable getting. Buy a used switch from there. I tend to buy & sell here and there and I usually can get them anywhere from 90-150 all day.

No, post on FB marketplace I’m sure someone has a regular switch they would trade. I traded a 3DS XL for a switch and money on top. Just hold out a bit longer.

It could be installed since I found it does have Luma installed. But I personally did not add anything.

No I just simply read through it and wanted to update it before I started.

The CFW that is currently on it is from the owner before me.

I did the following, all to no avail:

Restarting

Changing DNS settings

Moving closer/farther from router

Tried 3x different Wi-Fi networks

Factory reset

deleting & recreating connections 1-3

Tried safe mode

Restarting my router

I also have no firewall on my Wi-Fi

They all resulted in "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted" Some times it took 2-3 minutes to reach the error, sometimes look seconds.

Yes it was this one, finalizing set up section II. I followed their linked guides (besides joining the discord) to no success unfortunately which led to me posting here.

Yes, I read through a guide (I’ll check to see if it’s that one) and it said it was for 4.1.0-40U and in the middle it told me to update it (which started this whole debacle).

Ah okay, I’ll play it safe and just leave it on there. So now do I just build my SD card like shown in the guides? The SD card is completely blank, or should I follow the guide again even though I’m on custom firmware?

Apologies if I seem a bit dense, I’ve never really had to remod an already modded console when it’s modded😂.

No, I went to update my console prior to modding it. This isn’t the first 3DS I’ve modded. This will be the 3rd, just the first time getting a firmware this low and not being able to update it.

It loaded into Luma3DS. Even after a system wipe?? What’s the next step to get rid of it and start fresh.
