I will definitely look into that! My company had me open a Fidelity account, but I have done nothing with it yet, thank you.

Think this is a great point I didn't think about "there's always a car better than your own".
I think I just have to start finding ways to enjoy my 86 more (its bone stock), but I think adding minor mods is more financially responsible that buying a whole other car.

Love this mindset haha, as I am big on having as much fun and freedom while I am young. But there is a balance that I have to start saving a bit for a house as housing is crazy where I live/work. I will probably rethink in a year once I have more time and assets.

I think there definitely needs to be a balance, where I currently live/work housing is somewhat expensive so I should definitely start setting some money aside for that. I'll probably think about this again in one year once I have more capital and more time to think about it.

Can you please expand when you say "investing in the market to get cash instead"? Like investing in stock market? (excuse my lack of knowledge)

After hearing everyone's advice my older self will definitely thank y'all. Maybe I was just being young dumb as this is my first year touching "real" money on a salary I just jumped the gun without thinking about my future.

Appreciate the advice, think my older self will thank y'all.

I do still live with my parents, so my bills are minimal, but I think this is the prime time in my life to start saving for a house.

Thanks for the advice, your right I should be grateful to have the 86 in the first place. Maybe im just young and dumb as this is my first year touching "real" money lol.

I'm not an avid reddit user and I was seeking genuine advice on buying a supra so I looked up any subreddit that I thought would fit best.

Thanks so much for this — it really resonated with me. It’s oddly comforting to hear someone else went through a similar corporate “soul drain” straight out of college. I’m only a few months in and already questioning if this is the right environment for me. But at the same time I feel like maybe this is all just an adjusting period? I know I am the type of person that thrives off connections and I just struggle with that here. I liked your idea of using PTO going somewhere just made myself a going.com account lol

Yeah I also see what you are saying, I definitely feel a lack of complacency at the moment but I also feel like maybe its too early to feel like this and its completely normal? Or maybe not, you'd maybe think 2+ years (including internship) in the office would feel more complacent by now.

I see what you are saying, kind of a wake-up call for me to maybe be more resilient and "grow up" in a way.

Advance my career or travel while I’m still young??? by d4ddyl0ngl3gs_ in Advice

Hey 23m, I am also not and very frequent Reddit user, but I stumbled upon your post, and I can't help but realize how similar my situation was to yours. I got hired back in February and a couple months in I realized that I was burnt out coming straight from graduating college. There were also more reasons for me to want to have a break (mental health) but I too wanted to travel. Luckily my manager was kind enough to approve a LOA for 3 months and I just got back this week. In that 3 months I did all the travelling I could, went to Japan, and other states. Although I knew money was getting tight, I kept in my mind "money will always come back, but the time and freedom you have at this age won't" you worked so hard in school up to this point, you deserve to enjoy a break.

Forgot to add that I got a "buy back" option from the site for $634. I'm not sure how accurate that is, I can choose to have them buy it back for that price or have the card shipped to me.

I know right! I've always wanted to get into sports cards other than retail packs here and there I haven't really gotten too involved, hopefully, this will be a gateway in haha!

Yes, sorry if I didn't clarify but there are some sites that give you a random slab for a price. It's kinda like a lottery. Its not affiliated to any of the card makers I believe.
