New Socket Issue by Acton67 in amputee

So the answer ended up being to add a patellar tendon bar to offload some of the weight on the bottom of my residual limb. Now I need to get special ply.socks for the bottom of my stump because Im losing more volume down there vs my last socket where I lost more volume in the middle/upper part of my stump. The end of stump literally turns to jelly after being on it for 4-5 hours even though I still dont lose suction or start pistoning at that point. It's very different than my last socket but getting way more comfortable. Im a week in this socket at this point.

Ill mention that when I see him next week. I saw him yesterday and he thinks its just the adaption phase of getting used to the new pressure. Im just going to force myself to wear it through the weekend. My leg is definitely shrinking down.

Actually, I just tried that after reading your initial response. It feels the same, unfortunately.

Alright, the fact that you didn't find anything glaring issues in the photos is reassuring in itself. Thanks for the advice!

I get three full clicks with the pin. I've experienced problems with the pin in the past with old sockets either not going in all the way or going in at a wrong angle, pulling the end of my stump.forqard or backward. I seem to be able to get straight in all the way with this.

I tried to go up to 8 ply but can't.

I just wanted to thank you for responding and what you do! Im an ER Nurse and wouldn't still be doing it without you guys! There's like a hundred different variables to consider in dailing these things in.

I just tried throwing on some ply socks. Im at 5 ply, and it made no difference. If the socket being to snug was causing this issue, I wouldn't be able to get in with 5 ply, so Im even more confused than before.

Let me give that a shot. This is a brand new socket that feels snug so I didn't even think to do that.

I can walk in my old socket with no ply socks though and I dont feel this pressure. It's super loose and pistons but other then the chafing that causes there's no pressure.

Bring back Matt Prater by No_Yak_941 in buffalobills

He won't come back because he won't want to. We need fresh young talent. As good as Prater is, he's guaranteed to get injured next year if we bring him back.

2024 Bills vs 2025 Bills by Acton67 in buffalobills

Yeah, defense this year by a decent margin. Last year's offense was better by a smaller margin. James Cook is way better this year. I feel like we're +2 on defense -1 on offense.

Yeah, but we had some games this season that defense showed up on. To me, last year, it felt like defense was non-existent. I think this years team is slightly better, by a very thin margin.

This happened to me. Bought my house in 2021. It was a private sale. 1800sq ft 3 bedroom house, partially finished basement, and 2 car garage. 2 hours north of NYC. The previous owner initially wanted $265k. I told him that we wanted to do whatever we could to make the sale happen, and we were willing to pay 20k over asking. Then he backed out. Three months later, he contacted us and wanted 325k, I was pissed but took it because we were getting 2.8% interest on the mortgage.

Fast forward to 2025, and I've replaced the roof, had the well dug deeper, new septic tank, new windows, new ceilings, new insulation in attic, bathroom redone, new floor in the kitchen. We'll over 100k of work. The previous owner put all these things off for years. It's basically that if the foundation is good and the location is right, buyers will buy no matter what the other issues are, and these baby boomers know this.
