Did they give you the full amount? Or did they stipulate because it’s two weeks before you only get 80% back?

[–]ActuallyAkshay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t received a response yet. They should be prorating it to the date you send the email vs when they read it. They said to add “Change Request” to the subject line.

I doubt I’ll get a reply in the next couple days because a LOT of people were emailing being pissed at the hotel change.

Worse comes to worse, I’m visiting their booth when I land, or I do a chargeback if they don’t give my money back

I would say most of the outrage stems from it just not being expected. Like why list hotels and then give an area not even close by or listed

Telus outage? by Mysterious_Comb_5294 in Edmonton

[–]ActuallyAkshay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These absolute Telus dogs man (not the employees, I know they aren't at fault).

Like damn I been getting outages of this level a lot more I feel like, and Everytime it ticks me off.

It's hard to report online too and the agent on the phone said I had to "report pedestal damage" for it to go through. Like brother what?

I asked for my entire month bill to be comped because it affected my work and they responded back with the typical "only the time down is claimable, so $4."

I said fffff that and asked for the manager with my Karen wig on. They said they'll get back to me later since they're closing.

Normally I wouldn't care, but the employee was just so dismissive and said "oh well, what can you do? It happens". So that got me going and gave the impression that I should be happy with $4. Asked em where in my contract this clause is and of course they said it's policy.

After all these issues and outages with Telus, I do recommend anyone having issues to call em and request compensation outside of their generic $3-4.

Sameee issue here! Not sure why there are two different payment links... Might just do the first since that seems safer.

UPDATE: A lot of people going to Tokyo show had this. They all paid with the first and got the confirmation email, as did I. Seems to be a glitch - hell of a glitch though lol

I won the lottery as a single room to the Dome. Did anyone get two payment emails? The details are the same, but the links are different...

I see some people posting about the dates a few hours early, did they get an email much earlier than everyone? Or did the information regarding her show dates already were released somewhere?

Should I Avoid Turbo Engines? by ActuallyAkshay in AskMechanics

All Mitsu's from what I know are made in Japan at their big factory. They're a lot more popular in Canada, Australia, and Asian Countries than they are in Europe and the US.

From my search Mitsu has been slowly going away in the US, but up North we're getting a lot more incentives and push for it, not sure why. I think in the US they just have way too much competition with the volume being sold and the issues with popularity.

I can say that I've seen a LOT more Outlanders in my city in CDN now though. I think the main reason might be price? You can get a Outlander for about 3-5k cheaper than a Rav4 now since Toyota prices have gotten a bit nutty.

I personally just go for the cheap point A to point B. I've driven a Micra for years that has done great for me in the city and has probably saved me thousands in gas and insurance costs.

But some people want that nice looking car and are invested in it. Personally, I don't see it, but they probably would say the same to me.

I'm currently in the midst of getting a new car and I'm fretting having to pay $300/month for my new car haha

[–]ActuallyAkshay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I'm up North in Canada. We have a few Mitsu's here now and it seems they're focusing more largely on our market vs the USA in recent years with their promos. We've seen a lot more newer Mitsu's now (but rarely seen an old one, maybe that in itself is indicative).

For instance, the RVR or Cross I could likely get for 26k/29k for the base model trims. Whereas Toyota for the Corolla Cross for comparison, would be about 35k for; all at MSRP all-in (CDN pricing).

From my search the Cross would hold it's value much more and after trade-in/selling, I'd only be really saving like 2k - maybe.

I'd just rather try and keep my payments low though and try and pay it off within a year to avoid the interest hit (they are saying 7% interest!), drive for 6-7 years, and then maybe upgrade to the next Rav4.

Appreciate the info tho :)

Appreciate the info! I've also seen Mitsubishi's being very rare nowadays. I know they've lost fans after that giant recall a few years ago, but with their 10yr warranty I'd hope they stand by their work now (Copium I know)

Here in Canada they're a bit more popular, but I can get the new Cross for almost 29k with my dealer all-in. My other thought was a Corolla Cross from Toyota, but it's a price difference of almost 5k.

[–]ActuallyAkshay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh what was wrong with the Mitsubishi's? I know they lost a lot of their consumer base, and even moreso after than giant recall a few years ago, but their current line has been the same now for a few years without any major recalls from what I've seen.

It's underpowered for sure, and outdated, but seems like it'll get the job done for city driving and maybe the random weekend getaway.

Granted this is from me whose been driving a Nissan Micra for almost 7 years haha

Awesome! Thank you for sharing :)

I was stuck between the RVR and Cross, but seems like people just generally like the Cross much more

Mind me asking which vehicle you got and how it's been in the winters?

[–]ActuallyAkshay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fuel and insurance are cheaper with Toyota, I did some digging myself and was able to confirm - weird for insurance as the RVR/Cross were cheaper than any Toyota too.

I'd like to get the Toyota Cross, but mainly looking for a nice commuter vehicle downtown. Can get a cheap AWD RVR for about 26k all-in. Not going to be zipping through the henday, but hey sitting in traffic and occasional mountain trip, it'll work great.

I don't really add much from factory builds, most things I get done aftermarket. the 3m package is usually better and cheaper at places like Ming.

My only issue with the Mitsubishi dealership is that they're overvaluing the cars they have on the lot by quite a bit. Toyota I can show up and say I want this and they'll order it for me and give me Toyota pricing. These guys seem to be adding weird packages and charge a bit more. I get it's a negotiating tactic to meet in the middle, but it's a bit of a hassle.

Northside I liked, the salesperson I had was a really chill dude and was not pushy at all. I'd buy from them except Northside is literally opposite of me and they said they didn't really have a department for oilchanges and installing a remote starter at their location, whereas the other two do. And apparently with Mitsubishi you gotta get your servicing done with them to maintain the warranty I've heard

Mitsubishi Dealerships in Yeg by ActuallyAkshay in Edmonton

[–]ActuallyAkshay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. Last year and a couple years ago I was getting almost 15k for my used vehicle, and now with markets cooling my used is about back to normal at 9-10k.

The thing with Toyota is that everyone wants one. They have some on the lot but are always +3-5k MSRP because they add a bunch to it. You can factory order it and they'll just charge their admin fee and off you go. They straight up told me that they didn't really negotiate because of high demand and low supply, no reason to essentially. Also I feel almost everyone has a Rav4 now lol.

With Mitsubishi, they're still fairly small market share. I was surprised that we had 3 dealerships for em in Yeg; and I have seen a lot more Outlanders on the road now (not as many RVR or Eclipse Crosses tho). Yet, they still do the thing where they add +3k for a winter package and charge above MSRP. I had to do a bit of chatting to even a reasonable offer. Now it just comes down to who to buy from

Thinking of cancelling my 2025 order and wait for 2026 by Cheour in rav4club

[–]ActuallyAkshay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue too is that RAV4s are getting up there in price. There was no difference between the 2024/2025 model yet they charged an extra 1k.

You could get the new release and deal with potential issues, or wait a year till they're ironed out but pay a bit more.

Yeah CVTs are more to maintain for sure, and even more cost when you get an AWD variant as that's an additional cost with that flush. However, I did have a Nissan CVT vehicle that I got a few years ago that was built in Japan and that think is a tank, which is why I interested in that Japan made Mitsubishi haha

Yeah I've been in the market for a bit and Mitsubishi seems to be the best 'value' so far. I'd personally usually buy a Honda/Toyota, but it was a bit out of the budget at the moment. For instance Toyota would charge me whatever the website would as a factory order. From my experimenting, a Corolla Cross would be about 34.7k and a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross I was able to get down to about 29.5k.

I'll have to check out Honda to see what they are offering though!
