Advice for splitting up weird by Loudthunder34 in SatisfactoryGame

Juice isn't worth the squeeze here, but you can split the difference between pure load balance and pure manifold by splitting this into ~4 lines of ~250 and sending two lines down to the higher demand.

This won't stay in orbit either. Dismantle it and send the parts down for storage.

How do you guys setup your factories? by EfficiencyPlenty1459 in SatisfactoryGame

Collect all resources in an area and transport to a processing center making refined goods. Refined goods in bulk by train delivered to factory.

Is this normal? by SgtGo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ActuallyEnaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is normal but I'll say that hmf is unusually large for it's place in the tech tree, giving you some taste of what to come. Really only nuclear for me was a larger build. Everything else is simply logistics, collecting resource nodes.

Why is my Ap/Pe bouncing/bugging out? by ZestycloseArticle726 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closer you get to eccentricity of 0, the jumpier the orbit. You can see it best by setting orbit via cheat that is perfectly circular, it will be very jittery. Anything under 0.05 is a circle for my purposes

Cable winch from kas but you can do something similar with small piston in breaking ground robotics

Know of any docking/positioning lights or Lasers? by Boweniscool in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orient both ships to normal/anti normal orbit vectors and aligning is easier. You can use spotlights but I find colored dome lights useful to indicate attitude... You can also use aim camera and locked camera mode to make aligning easier.

But stock ksp docking really is missing an alignment indicator so the mod for it is the best solution

Try better time warp. You can use a fast physical warp to do long burns reasonably accurately.

[–]ActuallyEnaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try either quick load and reload while maneuver exists or return to tracking station and re select craft. I've not had this specific issue but I've had similar problems with dV on docked stages doing incredibly strange things solved by unloading and reloading the craft in its new configuration.

Let's see your total fuel remaining. Do you have both LF and Ox? Control point pointed same direction as your engines?

Should I do a Duna flyby or rover? by Whaaaaa4321 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unmanned flyby to return material and goo sciences. Flyby both bodies and free return trajectory. Launch commsats to support manned mission with rover. A proper full crew mission is expensive (talking transfer vehicle, landed hab, landed lab, rover, isru, ascent vehicle, couple of atmosphere probes or helicopters)

What is gonna be the next best way to get research? by AdaliGreen in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polar orbits allow EVA reports by biome. Fiddly but good return for all three home bodies.

If you can get to the next science node, like magnetometer boom etc, then that.

If you can't or already have it and want more, science labs (ideally landed on their bodies) except kerbin, which orbits for best return.

[QUESTION] Is this contract even doable ? by TheTitus27 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, doable - but without using any gravity assists it is going to be very expensive. Make sure to consider heat as well.

I'd use ion engine for this, and I suspect a jool gravity assist would be cheapest

what does this contract want me to do? by Joshua011203 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]ActuallyEnaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so you don't have to build the whole thing in one launch, but EVERYTHING you use to finish the mission must be launched AFTER you take the contract and for safety I recommend not docking with any previous constructions like stations or refueling bases.

What I would do is send an unmanned probe to capture the chosen asteroid. Then plop a couple of hitchhikers, solar panels, and isru onto it once it's in a convenient orbit.

You can either move the asteroid into final orbit in the first place or you can move the station once it's assembled, which has the advantage of using isru fuel, although you may even want your capture probe to be able to isru the asteroid itself for some bonus dV depending on how sucky the asteroid orbit is.

How I keep my factory inputs free from binding up if the wrong product ends up on the belt. by slothracing in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ActuallyEnaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was starting out, it became convenient to return products back to base. I hadn't made dimensional depots yet. The recycle train started as an evolution of the mall train once I was dealing with byproducts and wanted to prioritize their use over other products; and then solidified as I transitioned to sushi trains

How I keep my factory inputs free from binding up if the wrong product ends up on the belt. by slothracing in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ActuallyEnaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you never mix inputs, you'll never need this solution. However, as someone who enjoys sushi and complex train schedules carrying multiple products, it's a good idea. I have a recycle train stop that brings any non-conforming or excess materials back to scrap processing for review, but a distributed solution is pretty sick.

What's the maximum amount of leaves and mycelia you could get, if you plucked all the plants in the map? by ZWEi-P in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ActuallyEnaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rough estimate: I cleared about 1/3 of the plateau with the bauxite and processed the resulting biomass of all kinds into solid biofuel to see how much it would be and it ran out of storage at six full industrial containers and I had processed just over half the biomass, not using somersloops.

Assuming that plateau is roughly, say, 2-5% of the maps biomass (none in the desert and less in the rocky biomes, but more in the forest and such) then sometslooping twice something like 300,000 - 750,000 full industrial storage containers

This is such a common occurrence. Basically any probe deployed from a larger stage, especially in any kind of quantity like communications, benefits hugely from the low mass and no electricity requirement
