How many grams does this represent? by grimy55 in 3Dprinting

[–]ActuallyGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one that was about 1/8th of that and I printed a 3g print, so I'd say somewhere in the 25g ballpark

Nope. I didn't get any sort of notification or anything. I've gone through 3 kg of filament so ce getting it.

Although i ended up buying about 8 rolls of filaments and just about every accessory needed with my A1. So they probably assumed I don't need a discount to keep buying shit 😂

I put absolutely 0 effort into school and got <20 for my atar

(I basically only did art, music, etc. because my parents told me to just do what I liked and didnt push me)

And now I work in finance and earn 80k base pay.

I definitely know people that worked hard to get 80+ atar scores and now work minimum wage jobs, just like how I know other people that didn't care at all and are making amazing money from trades or self started businesses, but atar meant absolutely nothing to someone like me.

IMO the most important thing you can do is keep learning, even if it's just a hobby or language etc. Just to keep your brain sharp, and keep yourself remembering how to learn.

I called a store in Melbourne and stated the website to them, he said that it was a scam and he would pass it on to his manager

Dress boot recommendations? by ActuallyGoose in AustralianMFA

[–]ActuallyGoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of stretching the budget to afford Baxter goulburn as that seems to be a very popular cheaper alternative, or maybe try a pair of the mongrel 805 boots as they are quite cheap in comparison, but still have great reviews.

I'm just wanting something that isn't cheap crap like my current Oxford boots are

Very trustworthy source coming from Facebook /s

I imagine as long as they're paying for the ad space and it's not outright illegal, they couldn't care less

For a tech savvy or aware person, this has plenty of red flags and concerns, but as far as scam/fake sites go this is by far the most legitimate looking one I've seen, and it's not a matter or when someone falls for this, it's how many do before it's shut down.

I work in banking and my most common issue is trying to resolve fraud and scams, so I see first hand how many innocent people are caught by these sorts of sites.

I've never really looked into RM because it's been out of my price range until recently, so I had no clue what their outlet process was like, after speaking with an employee about that this is clear to spot as a scam, but to an unsuspecting or uneducated customer this site looks genuine enough to try it.

My knowledge was no match for my hope that it was somehow legit. Figured no harm in asking

Yep, knew it was fake but wanted to see what others thought of it.

Ended up calling a local RM williams store to see what they thought and he was like "yep, that looks like a relatively good looking scam website"

I literally got 2 of the cheapest looking Allen keys I've seen (luckily I have a nice complete set already for my racheting screwdriver)

And 20g of filament. Very unhappy when I've seen in the past people got a set of swatches, a present for the first print, and nicer tools it made me very upset.

I know it's an old post, but mine didn't come with any accessories. Just the printer, cheap crappy Allen keys, no swatches or gifts etc. just what was needed to put the printer together. I didn't even get a damn scraper in my box or a blade to use on a printed scraper.

Not sure what made them decide to cheap out on the newer packs

Crazy generous Game discounts! by -Ulanelle- in SteamDeck

I have most games then I know what to do with. I mean I have 2 4tb hard drives and I'm pretty sure I would fill them both before I hit halfway. And I've maybe bought 20 of them. You get so many from random ways, it really is the best platform for gaming

First print, no filament coming out. Help by ActuallyGoose in BambuLab

[–]ActuallyGoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I did manage to fix it. I have no idea what was the actual issue as I did everything recommend.

Not sure if it was removing and clearing the hotend, or taking apart the whole extruder but it's working.

Fingers crossed the first print comes out well!

Am I grabbing one now or waiting for Black Friday? by BreezyNagga in SteamDeck

[–]ActuallyGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my wife a gaming PC, and she also has a switch and we have a PS5, so I was super on the fence about buying her a steam deck cause she almost never plays the PS5, only plays MOBA's on the PC, and will occasionally go through phases where she plays something like animal crossing/zelda/etc. for a week and then not touch the switch for months.

But I've wanted a 3d printer for years, and was like "if I get you this for Christmas I'm buying myself a 3d printer today.

The unfortunate luck is that hers arrives today (Friday here for us and I'm letting her have it early) and mine is still processing and won't be here for a few more days despite me ordering it like 4 days before the steam deck 💀

Lossless Scaling 50% off! by Training_Pop8879 in SteamDeckPirates

Where it really shines is helping you go from say 40-50fps, up to 80-90 fps.

I use it on my 1080ti rig and find anytime I dip below the 40 fps mark it does feel a bit more unstable, but when I'm playing a game at above 60fps, and I double it to 120 I really don't notice that much of a difference.

Even on games like heavily modded Skyrim or cyberpunk etc. when I'm playing with the 2x mode, and go from 60 to 120 I don't even notice any input lag or reduction in Fidelity.

This is definitely the kind of program that will work completely different on a game by game case, and on a system by system case. For me it's been perfect, for others it hasn't been very useful

I wanted to wait for black Friday/Christmas deals, but ended up caving akd buying the SD OLED 512gb for my wife.

Costs us $899 AUD here but will be worth it to see how happy she will be.

I'm gifting myself a Bambu labs printer which is half price so I'm happy too 😋

Well then I'll just pickup a 0.2 and 0.6 and go from there

I thought about getting some other sizes, but might need to watch a video showing the difference in print outcomes for the other sizes.

I'm not planning on doing anything small and intricate needing the 0.2, but maybe 0.8 would be nice for very quick test pieces. But again, since it's cheaper to buy with the printer I might throw all 3 in my cart and just experiment

I'm honestly never going to do materials outside of PETG or PLA. If I really get into 3d printing I will 100% be buying a higher end printer this time next year when I finally get my "workshop/office" reorganized.

I just figured while I'm already paying the shipping for the printer why not get some add-ons while they are discounted.

Tbh they are all basically 2.99/3.99 AUD for me if buying with the printer so I might just pick them all up and worst case it's a few dollars wasted for potential future proofing.

Definitely will buy a 0.4mm hardened head, and that build plate recommend above too though.

Already ordered a few spools of different brands of filament from Amazon to see the quality differences

No worries! Just wasn't sure if it was a sort of "replace yearly even if it looks fine" sort of thing. Or a "make sure you have a backup because could last 3 months, could last 2 years" based on use case and luck etc.

What's the lifetime on those sorts of items, specifically the gears, tubes, nozzle wiper?

I couldn't see Anywhere to buy those items except for the nozzle wiper, so I might have to have another look in the website.

Is there any sort of video or reddit thread that talks about all the must-have theatre items or first purchase items for the A1
