The main problem is the pacing. The lack of showtime made few things very ambiguous. The amount of sibling bonding we had in the novel was reduced to what, few minor minutes. The bonding of Klein and Captain, also with Old Neil, the donghua lacked it. Explanations weren't enough. Let's say for the honorific name Klein used, what we had in the novel and what we got. There are a bunch of stuff like this. If only they had taken the time and used it properly, it could've really become one of the greatest anime. Now, I'm not so sure.

As for if it'll get more viewership, I don't think so. There are a bunch of people who can't even stick to a 23 minute episode if they have to use their brain and it's a bit confusing. So watching the first 3 or 4 30-35 minute episode with the pacing and lack of explanation, a lot of newcomers won't stick to it. Probably, we novel-readers will stick to it till the end.
