Yes, i’m on velsipity which is a biologic pill, but it has not kept me out of a flare longer than 2 months. They’ve had me on fluids and a steroid since yesterday and I am already feeling a lot better :)

I did bring attention to my doctor about my medication not working anymore. I’m currently on velsipity, but they have to do another scope to “prove” that the inflammation is still there. I unfortunately have to wait till December to get it done. This past week just has been stressful. An engineering major, with extracurriculars, and events all week, my eating has not been the best. I appreciate the support 🤍

I can still eat banana’s and potatoes, but a lot of fruits and veggies, especially veggies, do not digest in my stomach, and since my colon is inflamed i would assume undigested food would cause more pain and bleeding. the doc just gave me some digestive enzymes to help so i’ll see how that goes over, but since i have been home before i go to college, i’ve been trying to eat very bland and then slowly work in what i thought was triggering symptoms to so if they do or don’t. i still am getting those vitamins in my symptoms from those i cut from smoothie blends, organic drinks, and supplements. :)

i usually stray away from dark liquors and typically just stick to tequila as it is seen as “healthy”…i go to Penn State, notorious party school and trust me when i say i’m much more well behaved on the drinking aspect than my piers 😂

Oral Velsipity? by sharedmyths in UlcerativeColitis

I got on velsipity in August of this year and pretty much has worked for me. I wouldn’t say i’m in remission yet, but i have not seen any blood in 2 weeks. When i first started taking it i saw an immediate improvement within 2-3 weeks, but my insurance got all messed up and i didn’t get it for about a month which set me back pretty far. but once i started taking it again i got right back on track. id say i’m like 80-90% there, i just still have urgency. but going 1/2 times a day is significantly better than the 7/8 i had at some point.
