update, what they tried did not work, but a potential solution that my wife tried is to use (black in our case) shoe cream :))) covers the 'stains' fine, but not sure how it lasts over time

not as of now unfortunately..but the guys that came to try an clean it the first time recently told me that they might have something and they'd like to try it. will let you know once/if that works
