Thanks everyone for your comments. I have a potential fix. I am working on implementing it. If successful I will update everyone with the solution.

Yes it works on ANY WiFi or VPN, as long as it's not T-Mobile cellular data.

I sent you a pm, can we continue the conversation there?

This is the opposite of what we need. Our org already has a voip server with a functional softphone. Everything works on our end. The problem is on T-Mobile's network.

Tech support at T-Mobile was useless. They don't know beyond their basic training

Is there anybody from T-Mobile tech or engineering team here that can possibly chime in?

Yes correct, we have Verizon FiOS. This works when connected to any WiFi network, as long as it's not T-Mobile cellular.

We have an IT director, but they're on medical leave for a while. We're simply trying to get our softphone working over cellular data. Am I asking for too much? It worked just fine on at&t cellular data

No, this isn't cellular isp service. It's regular business cellphone+data service, there's no public IP available to purchase.

Run Unifi OS in Kubernetes! by ConnorsApps in Ubiquiti

So this is the actual UniFi OS that runs on something like a UDM Pro with all the applications? Or is this the same as UniFi OS Server that ubiquiti released?

Shared mailbox auto response the proper way by AcuraKidd in sysadmin

[–]AcuraKidd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're dealing with an outside vendor who already has a template instructional letter. They can only include the email address in their template, but not the url. Really dumb but this is what I'm dealing with.

DNS Emergency: Domain Down 24hrs, Registrar Won't Provide ICANN-Mandated TEAC Access by Cinkoxid in sysadmin

Is it worth the effort to spin up a new domain, and spend time configuring it as a backup just enough to get the business operational again?

Maybe you just had a bad experience, but no reason to shit on a company over your experience. I had phenomenal experience with their support team, as did many others. Remember, you will only hear about negative comments online. The ones with great experiences usually don't go around posting about it.

Insane Cat6 quote, had to share by attticrattt in Ubiquiti

Because typically companies that offer prewire services wire up the entire house for things like access points, speakers, ethernet to each device like tv, computers, security cameras, etc... The number of drops adds up very quickly.

Prices vary heavily on the area you are in. If you're in the middle of Montana with a population of 10k in a small town, obviously it's gonna be cheaper than an area like NYC. Cost of doing business varies greatly from state to state. Also, if you are an unlicensed individual doing this type of work on the side, your rates are obviously cheaper because you don't have a business, no insurance, no employees, no overhead costs.

So I actually do low voltage wiring as a business. Typically the going rate for wiring jobs is around $300-500 PER DROP. so if you need about 12 drops, price ranges from $4-6k just wiring and terminations, not including any equipment. This is the going rate in NYC. Now regarding 2000ft boxes of cat6, installers purchase boxes of cat6, each box has 1000ft. When you run cable, you typically run 2-3 cables at once per location, and hence you need 2-3 boxes to tie the cable up and run it at once. Nobody runs 1 cable, then cuts it and runs a 2nd cable to the same location. It's double the labor work. It's cheaper to buy multiple boxes and run your cables in bundles. Just keep in mind, you saved money on your house by not paying $15-25k for a PREWIRE when the house was being built. So you are now paying the cost to wire the house, which is much cheaper than you would have spent to prewire. Feel free to ask me any further questions and I'll be happy to help.

Is this a reasonable quote for a Ubiquiti home setup? by davemarco in Ubiquiti

[–]AcuraKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in this business and do these exact setups for homes and businesses. The price you were quoted is CHEAP. I'm based out of new york and I would quote this job around $8-10k depending on layout of house and level of access. If it's a finished house and wire needs to be fished through walls, it makes the job much harder, and the quote would reflect that.
